I found this an interesting read, it's some of the more noticeable changes they've made to Win7 since the beta was released.

very nice.

this would explain why they have taken down the beta downloads. RTM will be out soon :)

I got another link that tells how many bug fixes have been made. Over 2,000 that is only 75% of them. I think this contributes to the public beta!

Sounds like they're making some nice changes. I've yet to try it out myself though.

I doubt I will for a while because I just reinstalled windows and reorganized all of my drives.

I've been running 7 beta for months now and love it. The only problem I've encountered is that it has inherited Vista's "nvlddmkm nVidia driver stopped responding" error.

It plagues thousands of vista users and it does the same thing on my HP notebook with ATI mobility HD 2600. Regular computer use causes it... not gaming. Screen will flicker a couple of times, little balloon tip pops up saying ati driver successfully recovered. Other times it will flicker then bluescreen with an ATIXXX whatever driver error.

Turn Aero off and I've yet to see it but I mean... Hell... Aero is half the fun (and now in windows 7 the FUNCTIONABILITY!)

I just don't get it...

Yer, they dont fix these REAL bugs, the low level stuff gets left behind.

do you even know what that error is? do you preffer to get that error or BSOD?

I prefer neither as the error message eventually leads to the BSOD anyways.

I turn off aero and the problem goes away.

I've tried every ATI mobility driver I can find and nothing fixes it.

On my home pc, I've read through at least 50 forum pages on people's temporary solutions and none of them worked. It did that on my home pc with 3 different nvidia cards.

This is after running two different driver sweeper/cleaner apps in safe mode after removing the device drivers, deleting every nvidia driver or associated file off the machine and doing a clean driver install with the new card and NOTHING worked :thumbdwn:

XP doesn't do any of that.

I tried that..

I used the nvidia bios editing/flashing tool and tried this (as it was one suggestion from one forum) and lowered the speeds down BELOW standard 8800GT speed and it still had this problem.

This is with the arctic cooling 3X80mm fan huge heat sink on the thing too AND the side panel off with a box fan blowing on it.

WILL IT STILL STEAL FOCUS AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIMES
WILL CANCEL STILL BE THE DEFAULT HIGHLIGHTED BUTTON ON THOSE POPUPS

I don't appologize for all caps...it's 2009 and these two things are the pain of my Windows experience. Vista was supposed to have built in code to stop stealing focus from happening...but it doesn't work...TweakUI's anti-stealing focus gizmo doesn't work in Vista.

I'm really excited about 7. It's the first MS OS that's done that since 98. And that was ONLY because 95 was soooo bad.

With 7, I might just stop using Linux all together for a while. Ok, can't completely do that. I refuse to abandon my clarkconnect box.

Have you submitted this using Windows 7 beta????

You dont need red, bold letters if you present the information to the correct people. Nvnews forum users aren't going to address the issues in Windows 7.
