And soon Asus, and of course Hercules and Visiontek and the list continues to grow.
I remember when Elsa was one of the Ultimate Nvidia suppliers. Hell their Whole Gladiac line going back for years was based on nothing but Nvidia technology. Now they are all Gladiac 9700's and such...
Wierd... just wierd.. After being in the Dark ages with ATi for so long its almost surreal with the current enviorment of Front and Ceter we are in today.

Are these boards mfg'ed by elsa? Or just Repacked Sapphires?
I confiremd that my 'visiontek' is a repacked sapphire, as many many others.
I belive alot of companys like this are showing up as more of Box Art marketers.
Some big company takes care of manufacutring, while they sell the boards to compansy like VisionTek Herc etc they make up some spiffy box art and sell it.

Spiffy box art, software and other extras. All these cards are prety much the same, it's a matter of what extras you might want. Hercules is the exception. Had I known their 9800 Pro would become available stateside I would have bought that instead of my Sapphire. :|

"The Neue ELSA GmbH follows in the footsteps of the ELSA AG which opened insolvency proceedings on May 1, 2002. The two companies are separate entities, however. The Neue ELSA GmbH has taken over the rights to the ELSA brand and will provide service and support for all ELSA AG products."
And, IIRC, the old Elsa GF cards were made by Visiontek:eek:
strange world:D

Muhaha, there is no choise, they are all the same!

But ELSA always produced the Quaddro series of cards, whihc they are continuing to do. They don't produce any workstation level ATI cards and, IMO, exercising a just right to manufacture gfx cards regardless of who makes the chips.
All the other AIB's should take notice and do the same thing. It would make the market place a much fairer place to shop in.

Aaah.. You just need to let the soup Stew a bit longer grasshopper... ;)
Lest we forget all this big Turn around for ATi only started getting really serious about December a mere 6 months ago. Then it took another giant leap about 3 months ago.
Just wait till the Market Data is in at the end of this Fiscal year.

Thats what they told NexGen "Microsoft is not makeing a game console"
Meanwhile, i do tend to belive its not ture, ATi dosent really take any risk by selling their own branded boards, just the standard risk of maeking to many witch every business faces.

I love how the mods here lock polls because so many people voted for ATI and not nvidia.
Blind faith in a company isn't a good thing lmao

No kidding. I don't seem to see one around here that's been locked. Maybe he's at the wrong forum. I think he's one of those geeks that sits at his comp all day and does nothing but hate nVidia. Kind of a waste if you ask me. That's like saying, "I love Porche but I hate Ferrari." Please. Both turn heads and raise eyebrows. Both brands of video cards are great as well. *sigh* I'm tired. :(

Aye! ATI has REALLY come back from the grave, one of the main reasons I bought a 9800 Pro. Can't wait to see what they slam out next...
Wee!
PS - To StealthHawk: I was just foolin around, tit for a tat, eye for an eye. AYE!
