ATI pulled their Windows 7 driver, but the current Vista Catalyst 9.2 works fine in Windows 7 except it's only WDDM 1.0 of course. There is some talk about ATI releasing new Windows 7 drivers based on Catalyst 9.3 later on.

I currently have a HD 4870 but I will probably go back to NVidia with next hardware upgrade (unless ATI has a monster performance card at that time). I do not like the ATI drivers. They miss some for me important features compared to the NVidia drivers, and I don't like the looks and design of the control panel either.

Surprisingly these do not work with Vista :p

Strange problems with all WDDM 1.1 driver releases, I can't get 1280x800, can only get 1280x768. When I do select 1280x800 it only shows a part of the screen, like its been magnified and is too big for the monitor to display.

Weird...

Even more surprising, I'm typing this with Vista x64 and 181.71 ;)

Sounds like a bug. Can you get 60Hz with the display in Windows 7? All drivers I've tried (ATI) show 59Hz and 60Hz as available but it always resets to 59Hz even if I set to 60Hz.

heheh :)

I guess you used a modded inf then (you inf modder you :p)? I got an error message something like "Unable to install, windows is not installed on this computer" or similar.

Have only just installed these but figured I'd share:

Just tested forcing vsync via the control panel with Dead Space.
I'm glad to report that it appears to be working, so the games now playable again for me.

For people that don't know, Dead Space locks the fps at 30 when using the ingame vsync option, and there is major tearing without it. Previous drivers couldn't seem to force vsync via the control panel, but this looks to be fixed again. So back to playing at a smooth 60fps with responsive controls again :)

It was at 60hz before I think, but I forced 75hz and its fine now.. strange.

SLI works with this driver in ETW! bout the same or better than 181.22 in vista.

but no dual monitor support and SLI at the same time... :(

win7 x64 here with Iiyama HM903D (visionmaster pro 454, 19'') , tried refreshforce, refreshlock, rivatuner, hacking modes.txt, also patched the Iiyama HM903D drivers to install on 64bit systems. I can't get it to allow higher than 86hz at any rez, even with the nvidia custom resolution options.

This monitor normally supports 120hz at most resolutions, even higher at some :(

the 185.20 drivers (installer says 'windows 7' they are only WDDM 1.0 though) reports all refresh rates correctly (eg. up to 150hz at 1024x768)

until nvidia fix it i've been able to set custom resolutions (120hz) after pulling pin 7 on a cheap DVI-VGA adapter, so monitor EDID info can't be sent (and then misinterpreted.) (181.71-win7 are the only drivers where opengl isn't flickering like a broken TV)

follow http://www.overclock.net/faqs/47971-how-set-whatever-res-i-want.html pin 6 is DDC Clock, 7 is DDC data, the guide says pull both but only pulling 7 (far right colored pin in image) works fine for this.

Using w7 7057 and these drivers.

Haven't experienced ANY problems yet. Im suprised really, after all the gaming hours.

I even get better FPS with these in Age Of Conan.

Dual monitor support is working btw.

Yeah ETW runs in SLI about same performance as 181.22 and these drivers are much more stable. Shame about no multi monitor with SLI.
