Would it work in a flat open case with no fan?

Yeah I think they should have some sort of clip for that heat sink that will stick into a PCI or PCI-E slot for extra support. :lol:

Cool a 200mm fan although it looks like it will not cause problems with side fans if you have a coolermaster HAF where it's fan is lower down but the cooler does not look much higher then the PCI bracket.

apparently they don't realize that a $30 aftermarket cooler can do well enough for 98% of the overclockers out there and the remaining 2% go liquid cooling anyways...

this is going to turn into one of those joke coolers like that coolermaster V10 joke of a HSF

Even if it isn't a joke, it far surpasses the point of diminishing returns for an air cooler. It could be the size of the REAL starship enterprise, but would still not be able to cool below ambient air temps without liquid, phase, peltier or some other medium...and I don't see any.
