They really are cheap now but is there something else looming in the sub £150 market?

I wont go ATI as I want to keep my 8800gt for physx. (enforced brand loyalty)

My GTX 260 maxes damn near everything... only Total War and Crysis require any lower settings, and even then it's minor.

It's a great card.

:wtf:

Maybe you idea of "playable" differes from mine- but Crysis on Very High across the board, with 8xQ AA (Application enhanced) and 16xAF, is perfectly playable for me. At least it is so far.

I run the 64 bit executable in DX9 at all high settings, 4xAA and 16xAF forced through nHancer. Our differences might be Vista related, or maybe I just NEEDS MOAR FRAMESES!

Yep, you're alone there.

15-20fps is unplayable. :p

Love my 260, but I bought a 4870 on the cheap this week, and am gonna be testing the few games I play today on my old rig. (e8400 p5e)

I want to test it on my i7 set up as well, but I spent yesterday setting up my new drives in raid, and am still updating windows.

I can live with 20+ fps :)

My GTX 295 gives me this @ 192x1200 :D

what resolution are you running to play Crysis in Very High with any AA on a single 260??

1680x1050. If I over ride the app settings, my framerate tanks, but using App enhanced gives me smoother edges with very little performance penalty it seems.

And yeah, my FPS is probably around 20-25fps. :o For me, in Crysis at least, that's playable. :)

Physx is such a novel concept. I wouldn't leave it be the deciding factor as it still hasn't fully caught on after what, 5 years?
