add this to the pile of reasons soccer sucks:
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=628629&sec=world&&cc=5901
the biggest reason is: no world champion should be decided with a shoot out, ever.

hmmm muy intersente.
1. Soccer doesn't suck, you do
2. That wasn't the world championship (or anything close to it) It was an Amateur Game.
3. I half agree with the shout out part because lets say you're the shooter and its all up to you and you miss(you feel like ****) Or goaile (you'd feel that you let your country down)
4. It's Iraq... (need more be said)
5. Soccer is a great and difficult sport, I'm sorry but you don't know what ur talking about.
I'm just wondering, what sport do you like?

I know that wasn't the world cup, but they did it at the last one, the world cup should not be decided on a coinflip's chance, how can you only 1/2 agree? and faking injury? you can't justify it to me by saying its part of the game, its a bunch of euro pussys doing what they do best.
Soccer is a boring and easy sport, 18 guys on the field, 3 of them chasing the ball, the rest of them standing around waiting for something to happen, watching 6 year olds play it is funner for everyone, a mass of kids running over each other to get the ball is more entertaining.
the only good thing soccer has ever produced is the hot women that play it (pics forthcoming, I'll need some time to locate some good ones)
Hockey FTW!

what an accurate description of the game. I will need some time to clean all the brain matter from the walls of my room :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode: :headexplode:

You do realize that everything you see in hockey (I am assuming Ice hockey is the sport you are discussing) is based on the free-flow and movement that was incorporated from football right?
I used to watch the Lightning play NOT because of the love for hockey, but because there was not football to watch. Hockey has a keeper, defensive players, wingers and forwards. It's all positional and strategic and involves skill, just like in football.
I am with you, however, that diving has no place in the game, or any other game (i.e. basketball and flopping) and should be strictly penalized. But, the game itself is very tactical. If you have ever played it against even a half decent side, you would know this :)
the world cup should not be decided on a coinflip's chance
How is it a coinflip? Its a 1 on 1. You can trick the shooter by going on way and moving the other, as the shooter you can shoot the ball to the left, but just clip it so it goes to the right. It's definently not just a coinflip
Soccer is a boring and easy sport, 18 guys on the field, 3 of them chasing the ball, the rest of them standing around waiting for something to happen
:O
HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT???
Soccer definently isn't a boring and easy sport. It's 45 minutes of pure running, you're always moving, maybe take a 10 second break, after that you're running for another 20 minutes straight. The only protection you wear is shin pads. ITS A GREAT SPORT. Its fast action intensity.
Hockey FTW!
Hockey is basically Soccer. ball changed to puck, grass changed to ice, cleats changed to skates, the rest is there. Sure the teams are smaller, its the same thing!!! How can hockey be 1000000000% better then soccer if its basically the same thing?
the only good thing soccer has ever produced is the hot women that play it (pics forthcoming, I'll need some time to locate some good ones)
The only good thing hockey has ever produced is the great fights
(Sorry for doing this, but I hate it when people say that soccer sucks when it doesn't at all)

I'd turn that the other way, soccer is basically Hockey, any hockey player can play soccer, a lot do in fact as a warm up, but no soccer player in the world can play hockey on any level.
And, hockey doesn't have fans shooting opposing players to ensure a win.
And, hockey players don't fake injuries to get penalties called on the other team, in fact most go to the locker room for stitches so they can come back fast and not miss another shift.
And, hockey plays a real overtime in the playoffs so they can pick a real champion.
And, the Euros that play hockey are tough, not like euros that play footy.
And, don't give me that "pure running" bs, I stand by my previous account of the soccer I've seen (not much granted, mostly olympic and international tourneys), try sprinting in skates for 2 minuets, soccer players can't hang.
Thanks for the arguments tho, this is fun.
HOCKEY FTW

holy crap you are thick.
Just cause the redwings starting lineup play a quick soccer game before their hockey game doesn't mean they are better soccer players than ManU. Hell, I bet 10 year old junior ManU players would destroy any average person, or any hockey player for that reason.
A soccer "GAME" is played onna big f*cking pitch, with 11 players. Anything else is just an exercise in soccer skills.
Just like a hockey "GAME" is not played in your roadway with your fat friends, its played on ice.
And how the f*ck do you know no soccer player can't play any ice hockey? You speak for them? Are you hiding the brazilian national team in your basement? Soccer players are some of the best conditioned athletes in the world, they dont stand around you ****ing lunatic. Their endurance is a hell of a lot better than hockey players.
Hell, most people can drive cars, so I am guessing Formula 1 is not a sport, and is alot easier than Hockey, also most people can throw sh*t, so track and field is not sports either right?
go commit yourself.

If anyone ever says that, I'll immediately jump to argue that. I ran track in high school and it pisses me off when people say it's not a sport. Hell, the Olympics exist because of track. It's the oldest and one of the first sports.

there, it worked. I don't find many sports entertaining, but I respect talent. Pele was incredible, Beckham is great, there are a few others who excel at what they do whether I like their sport or not, I still can't get behind soccer for the reasons already mentioned, but in a nutshell; they don't respect themselves enough to play hard (flopping euros) or to award a true championship (world cup shoot-out). Sure they are very conditioned, and athletic specimens, but there are better; try playing 82 games, 3 or 4/week (or try riding a bike for 2100 miles in 3 weeks and compare conditioning, that is not to start a doping argument because cycling is the worst of the worst). Soccer is a sport for elementary school kids and hawt women. I have waited long enough for any argument to the contrary.

Wow...and I've never seen bob type more than 1 consecutive sentence. This is the serious business!
All I will say is hockey players trump soccer players in my book. Plus, hockey fights are cool, soccer fights are lame unless the fans start them, hehe.
I enjoy both sports tho so not taking sides.
Carry on and begin nukage from orbit, I already donned my foil hat and am impervious. :p
Let's **** on tennis...or how about bowling. Maybe ping pong or golf....but not soccer.
Golf I have mixed feelings about but it is an activity that requires a lot of skill. Not sure I would term it a fully-fledged sport, but it definitely is a skill activity.
Table-tennis requires a lot of skill, tennis also, badminton is the fastest raquet sport in the world and also requires immense skill and endurance. Bowling, again, more a skill activity than a true sport honestly.
