THQ has informed us that if the company cant sell Big huge Games it will be forced to close the studio. In a statement, which was a reaction to a story earlier today about layoffs at Big Huge Games, THQs Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, Julie MacMedan, told us that it plans to close the studio if a sale is not completed in the near future.

Big Huge Games's portfolio includes Rise of Nation games as well as the Asian Dynasties expansion for AOE III.

RTS Games are going the way of Adventure Games. :*(

Not surprised seeing how MS shut down Ensemble Studios. Big Huge Games did great games but Rise of Legends put off many with it's somewhat unusual theme. Personally I loved it. After that they did a boardgame conversion for XBox Live (Settlers of Catan), and started working on a RPG.

By the way, BHG founder is Brian Reynolds, who is the maker of Civilization II, Civ: Alpha Centauri and Civ: Colonization.

The last good RTS was Age of Empires 2 . The rest aren't worth anything.

Here I was expecting BHG to mean actually be about largely successful selling games, not a company. lol

Last good RTS type I enjoyed was Joint Task Force, different and challenging.
