Windows 7 wireless question

Got 7057 working on my laptop. When I was setting up my wireless networking it asked me if I wanted have it connect to my router even if I wasn't broadcasting my ssid, then below that a warning that said if I chose that option my wireless network might not be secure. Well I never have broadcast my ssid before since I thought that that made your network more secure.

Any idea why that warning is there?

So.... even though my wireless says it's secure now while I'm not broadcasting, it's really not ???
