View Full Version : WMP problem...
Ok I have a problem with some mp3's I have on my computer, when I try to play half of them it loads a webpage tha says I am trying to play files off a cd, and wont play the file, I didnt have this problem before I formatted my other HDD. What can I download to make them work?

What program are you playing them with?
Im using Windows Media Player9 but I have tried using a program that came with my sound card driver to play them and it does the same thing, I assume if I got winamp\3 it would to the same thing.
btw I put it misleadingly when I said the webpage says I am playing them off a cd, it says im trying to play a file that has been ripped off a cd.

Does the webpage which comes up mention anything about licensing?

www.winamp.com
last player u'll ever need ;)
BTW just a personal recommendation get version 2 instead of version 3, it is less intrusive (footprint <10MB), and generally a more stable version.
WMP9 sux for playing music. Also if you download the full version of Winamp 2 it comes w/WMA support just in case you ripped it using WMP.

You have an Audigy2, you should know that the only program to use for music is Foobar2000 (http://foobar2000.hydrogenaudio.org/) ;)
