Glorified Slam Dunk Contest? Are you kidding me? The fact that NBA players have the skill to get to the hoop is nothing less than incredible. In your "NCAA", noone plays defense. An NBA player of even low caliber would tear up any college team because of their lack of defense.
lol! I love it when people actually believe college basketball has "athletes" who play defense. They think that because they see a bunch of sweaty teenagers "Hussling" and running around really hard that they are playing "good defense". Do yourself a favor and watch a high calibre NBA team's defense. Every move they make is for a purpose. They don't run around unorganized(like every college team). The offense and defense in the NBA is very composed.
/remembers when tons of college fans(idiots) were talking about how amazing J.J. Red**** would be in the NBA because he dominated college(no skill) ball. Do yourself a favor and lookup J.J. Red****'s NBA stats. They suck because he still plays like a college player. The only players that succeed in the NBA actually accept to themselves they need to entirely change their game if they want to make it. Knuckleheads like J.J. will never make it.

NCAA is waaaay faster paced than WNBA and the players are much more athletic.
NCAA is by far the best entertainment. they play so much harder than the prima donnas in the NBA with million dollar contracts.

Instructions on how to defend why college basketball is better than NBA.
Step 1: Be sure to mention that NBA players make way to much money. This is your BEST argument you have. Be sure to mention it every chance you get.
Step 2: NBA players are more athletic, so they are able to dunk easier. DO NOT mention that the NBA players are more athletic. Just say NBA players are showboats and they dunk way too much. This will throw the NBA fan off totally!
Step 3: Talk about how college players "hustle". This is great because it makes you seem like you are trying to help the "little guy". This will strengthen your argument to an even higher degree. We all know that those who "try harder" are the ones who are the most skilled. Every person on the planet can play NBA ball, as long as they run really hard and look like they are "trying hard". If the NBA fan brings up the fact that NBA players play longer minutes and have to conserve their energy, mention again that NBA players make WAY to much money. Again, this is how you will win.
Step 4. NEVER compare rules and regulations of College to NBA. If the NBA fan catches wind that most of the college rules and regulations are almost exactly the same as WNBA(20 min halfs, 19'9" three point shot, 10 sec half court, etc. all WNBA ). If rules and regulations are brought up, say that NBA refs never call traveling. How else could a player score 50+ points a night without traveling? This will delay their thought process.
Step 5. Be sure to mention you saw an NBA game 8 years ago(but say it was just last week) and it was the worst game you ever saw. All of the players looked and acted like drug dealers. Allen Iverson, Ron Artest, and Ben Wallace play for every single NBA team there is. Mention you saw them will dreadlocks and they didn't run the entire game. College players run a LOT. Running alot = Hustle. Hustle = More Skill.
Step 6. When all else fails, Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan(a player you probably never saw play a live game) was the last great player to play for the NBA. Say that when he left the NBA, it went to the pits. Michael Jordan is the greatest player of all time. There really IS such thing as the Michael Jordan Era. Every single good basketball player in the NBA left the same exact time that Michael Jordan did. Michael Jordan never fails and neither will you if you use this stellar argument.

I fell asleep watching College Basketball last night.
Was never much of an NBA fan, but am starting to like it more than college basketball for a variety of reasons.
Saying college players aren't athletic though is just stupid, there are tons of athletic college players, but being athletic doesn't mean they can finish at the rim, or have a good jump shot.
The quality of play in the NBA IS MUCH BETTER, as a lot of college games are a mess. The NBA used to be down, but it has been improving for a while, and it still is.
The college atmosphere is better in most cases though, and attending college games (as a student) is much more enjoyable.

for me i hate the NCAA for one reason. the rankings they use to get in the playoffs ARE NOT based on records but some stupid ass power rankings that some guy's group thought up. if my team is 10000-0 but has a lower power rankiong, then according to them i must have a terrible team.
use records for the dam standings.. not some opinions.

Yes because we ALL know college atheletes don't get fully paid scholarships, booster money, tutors paid for by the school and allowances and technically have more money invested per kid than any average joe on the street.
Yep, College Sports is completely untainted. No money or transfers or anything of that nature to affect it. No coaches ego's. Nope, it's perfect.

There is such a thing as local derby's and other major match-ups that are much FIERCER and run deeper than the media-derived over-blown crap between Duke and UNC.
Liverpool v/s Everton, Real Madrid v/s Barcelona, Rangers v/s Celtic, Olympiakos/Panathanaikos, Argentina v/s Brazil.
All of these classic derby's have a far larger following with a far richer history and far more passion than the Duke/UNC rivalry. Fan's live, bleed and die for these teams and others I haven't mentioned.

I do. All day long I listen to idiot UNC fans and the even more braindead Duke fans.
Its IMPOSSIBLE to watch an NBA game at ANY sports bar here. It was NBA All Star Game night and had to make a special request to watch the game. Not a single TV(out of 50!) were NBA All Star game. They were all some stupid college game.
I love the area I live in, but I swear these duke/unc fans need to be drug outside and shot.

listen you tool. I went to NC State. I was there in the RBC center when we beat No. 1 ranked Duke both times in one year. When the UNC **** wads came over to our campus to paint it tarheel blue I poured ice cold water on their heads when it was 20 F outside. I watched UNC vs Duke games like it was a religion. And I STILL say NBA basketball is WAY WAY better than NCAA basketball. The athletes are so much better. It's just funner to watch.

And if anyone thinks the **** that Kobe did with that woman was bad, you should take a look at student athletes. I lived in the same dorm as a few of them. They are 2x the premadonnas that most NBA players are. They just don't get the media attention.

Jackoff I went to state too, and got my associate of science in 04 so STFU. I am still a Carolina fan and have been since I was a little boy. NC state basketball is utter crap right now, besides recruiting some of the dumbest players in the world.
