I recently installed vista 64bit and for some reason I cannot install any of nvidia new graphics drivers with getting a black screen with a cursor after I login into vista. the only drivers I can use successfully is the "178.xx" series or the driver that come with vista. I have tried all kinds of drivers(180.xx or higher); however, they all display a black screen with a movable cursor after I login to vista. has anybody experience this type of issue?

Download the 182.08 drivers. Uninstall your current drivers and run Driver Sweeper. Reboot then install the 182.08 drivers and see what happens.

thanks for the feedback.. I followed the directions mention above and no such luck, still the same old black screen and movable cursor... it a strange event because I can hear the normal windows start up sound; however, the screen is black... is there anything else i can try? my video card is geforce 5950 gx2 and I am thinking about upgrading.

thanks
