So randomly every 15 - 20 minutes X3 terran conflict locks up and I have to CTL ALT DELETE to get the task manager to shut it off.
When I look in the error messages in the log viewer, it says there is a problem with d3dx9_37.dll and nvd3dum.dll. I've tried different drivers. No dice. I think it may be an over heating problem. At the moment I'm useing 182.08 WHQL drivers.
I have a Core2 2.4 GHZ overclocked to 3.0GHZ and I have a GeForce 8800GTS at stock speeds. 4GB of RAM, and I'm running Windows 7. My hardware is usually 100% stable, but I haven't played a game that has pushed it in a while.
So... for the overheating... at time time of the crash the graphics card runs around 75C and the CPU runs at around 60C. Are those temps normal operation? Any ideas as to what's causing the crash.
Oh and one more thing, turning on AA and aniso filtering seems to make it crash quicker.
