No one is using the Noctua NH-U12P Cooler? :(
that's what I have.
+1 with 2 fans and u can overclock the i7 920 to 3.8 easily on air :)
and it is summer :)
Haha yea I'll try and get pics up when I do it. I'll have to warn you though, it may not be pretty.
That's why I asked. I pictured what mine would look like if I tried that.
Not pretty. :p

Stock cooler for everything for me. Never once used custom coolers.

I was bored and decided to see if I could push it further... :D
Got it running with 425 fsb now giving me 3.6GHZ on the cpu at 1.25v
Memory is at 1360MHZ at 1.6v
Ran Prime 95 for an hour and it got up to 56C so not anymore heat than 3.5 was

Ran OCCT Linpack test then went out to get an ice cream. When I came back it had stopped at around 40 minutes and windows said the program crashed. OCCT said there was an error detected but I have no idea what the error was.
I reran OCCT and it went the full hour with no errors this time and the max temps were around 67C.
I'll probably play it on the safe side and just leave it at 3.5GHZ since I really don't need that little extra speed and plus I'm not sure what happened with OCCT while I was gone so better safe than sorry.
True 120 black lapped.
+1

Force the side panel on, They'll leave a guide mark on the inside of the panel :)

There is no way to force it on. It sticks out too far.

Well I guess the Arctic Silver 5 paste finally cured. I am now getting 32C at idle and 52C with Prime 95 for an hour at 3.5MHZ. That is down 4C at idle and 4C at load (nana2)

Water cooling FTW! PA120.3, DTek blocks for CPU and GPU, Swiftech MCP 655 pump. GPU is overclocked and water cooled in the same loop.

Geez, 18c. Do you remember what the E6700 @ 3.2 ran at with the stock cooler? I just installed a ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134) on my E8400 @ 3.456GHz and it brought the idle temps from 45c to 41c and load (mirror's edge+wine) from 57c to 48c. Maybe Rev 2 isn't as good as the original. 4-9c is fine with me anyway..
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus
Nice, quiet, does a good job, and cheap.

After using high end air vs low end (all in one) water cooling, my vote would be for the Hydro. With water your temps drop to ambient after loading almost immediately. In changing from an all in one like this to a complete high end custom I really only dropped a few degrees more. Once you go water you will get better cooling, faster drop back to ambient, etc. Its just a better cooling solution overall.
