I hope it comes out something decent and not like the cartoonish crap called RA3
Bonus content on the C&C: Red Alert 3 Ultimate Edition PS3 disc hints at the possibility of a new installment in the C&C Generals series, as an interview with EALA's David Silverman and Mike Verdu reveals that Command & Conquer Generals 2 might be in the works. Stating the he is a big fan of the Generals universe, Mike Verdu says, "Don't be surprised to see another installment of Generals 2 at some point in the future, but certainly nothing to talk about just yet."

I thought Generals was a very solid RTS.

I don't know if I'd get around to playing a sequel though. I preordered C&C3 a couple years ago and I have yet to open it. I haven't even thought of picking up RA3.

Loved Generals. Liked C&C3 a lot. Never tried RA3 so I wouldn't know. I hope Generals 2 is in the development.

I think what killed the C&C series for me was how they turned them into B-movies.

I played C&C and Red Alert back in the day and they were stylish, somewhat realistic yet set on a different time line.

Tiberian Sun went too far with the ridiculous vehicles and technology, Red Alert 2 took it even farther (though the game itself seemed to work much better). The gameplay and overall feeling of Generals seemed more like the old games, even though it didn't have full motion video cut scenes or the traditional interface.

All the things I've heard about RA3 have really put me off of C&C in general.

Call me crazy but I thought the generals soundtrack was the best of any cnc game, no necessarily the best single song (hell march ftw) but overall quality and themes it was excellent.

Btw it was pretty obvious to me that they were going the Generals route when they released the free "lost in development" mission with the anthrax truck like a few weeks back. Why would EA do this unless they are going through Generals with a microscope?

CnC Generals was awesome. It was cool playing 3 campaigns from each faction. Multiplayer was also addicting. Zero Hour expansion killed it with the factions having special capabilities though.

Wow, I'm happy to see there are lots of Generals fans around here.

Usually C&C fans try to forget it even existed.

Its a very underrated game IMO.

C&C: Generals was excellent. I only played two games for years in row after they came out. The first was Generals. The other was Company of Heroes. Well-made RTS games just have a longevity that no other games have for me, not even MMORPG's.

Normally I don't play "normal" RTS games anymore after playing CoH; C&C3 SP was just "ok", didn't even bother with RA3 and I'm not all that excited about Starcraft 2. DoW2 is really good, but perhaps a bit too simplistic and intense - i probably liked the CoH balance the best. But I actually think that the Generals series could be the exception, that there's a place for a Generals 2 with just little (but still some) innovation from the first. Keeping an eye on this title for sure! :)

I might have to try DoW2. What you've said seems to reflect my POV pretty well, so it might be interesting to me.

I basically fit with everyone else. I played the hell out of the older titles, I have C & C 3 and while it is okay it didn't really excite me all that much. I played the RA3 beta but I haven't played it since then.

I really hope they do a Generals 2. Modern graphics but similar gameplay.

EDIT: Holy crap, I'm suprised Blizzard hasen't sued them yet. They have "Orks" which look exactly like Warcraft characters.

I thought it was decent, but it just didn't get enough attention from me when I could play 5 other C & C games. I have everything except for Kane's Wrath and RA3. The only one that didn't work well IMO was renegade.

I'm sure I'll hear a lot of grief but I feel the same way about AOE3. There are a lot of people who like 2 and for some reason don't like 3.

Do you need to have GFWL AND Steam installed and running for the game? Apparently that's what I need just to play the demo. Debating if I want all of that crap running on my pc.

They were always b-movies though, even the original games.

i was not a fan of generals in terms of the story line..which was what c&c really made its mark on..

Effectively, there was no storyline.

I thought AOE3 was excellent. I've played through the single player campaign 3 times.

I thought RA1 (and to some degree RA2) had decent storylines ...
