Every since late January, Nvidia is dominating super high end market. We’ve learned that GTX295 is selling much better than Radeon HD 4870 X2 and that consumers simply chose Nvidia rather than ATI.

In other news, the rest of the 4800 series is dominating. When people are willing to put down that much on a graphics card, they figure they might as well go all out, it makes sense that the 925 is outselling the 4870x2. Doesn't change that most buyers aren't in that segment and most people want bang for your buck around 90-150$, at which point, the 48x0 series is generally more attractive.

Really?

With the GTX260C216 OC edition selling for $159.99 AMIR with a free copy of FC2, I can't imagine why anyone would buy anything else if they have around $150 to spend.

The EVGA C216 with COD:WAW is only $5 more.

ATi won't be "dominating" that- their cards are a bit slower, and have less features, but cost the same and have worse warranties usually.

It's logical, people who wanted the fastest card last summer already got the 4870x2 back in august. So people who wants the fastest today buys the GTX 295. Anybody buying a dual GPU card wants the best, the fastest, so the 4870x2 isn't a choice anymore. So what kind of news is that?. We all know nVidia has the fastest card with more features, and we don't need the same nVidia ass licking kind of threads every few days in this subforum, it's getting really boring. Oh, and a couple of days ago you complained about hardware.fr being a reliable source, and today you post a fudzilla link. Sometimes you are really funny.

Please do us all a favour: if you want to talk about how good is the GTX 295 and how great it's selling, please post it at the GTX 200 series subforum (like you did with the excellent article about nVidia 3D vision) and don't spam this one. This subforum should be for people who want to share useful comments about our cards, drivers, problems, solutions... and not for nVidia propaganda. People who wants to hear things about nVidia cards will check the other subforum.

I think this thread should be closed to avoid another stupid chain of nonsenses. And if Rollo wasn't allowed to post anything on this subforum it would be perfect.

Fixed.

I agree! This is basically ATI cards owners forum and all Rollo does is troll here. Just maybe somebody with authority should have some serious talk with him.

The GTX 295 was already discussed in this thread (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=129377). Both me and LordJuanlo are the owners of HD 4870 X2 but stated if buying today we would buy the GTX 295 and advised the same.

All was OK with that thread till the biggest NVIDIA troll decided to post there.

Anyway I'm very happy with the HD 4870 X2 and the performance difference compared to GTX 295 doesn't justify the upgrade for me, so I will most likely wait for the new generation DX11 cards on 40nm process and buy the best card, who ever makes it.

By the way Rollo is the last person on this planet I would listen to for advice about which card to buy, if I did I would never have the HD 4870 X2.

When the HD 4870 X2 was the fastest card Rollo was advising everybody not to buy the 2 GPU card and buy the GTX 280, his main argument was problem with microstutering, which the real owners with good setup did not have problem with.

Strange that now he is advising to buy the GTX 295 and actually is using one. So basically his advise is don't buy anything from ATI period.

Luckily not everybody is listening to Rollo otherwise the GTX 295 would cost at least 750 USD but it looks like he doesn't care since he doesn't have to pay for it also his AMD/ATI dead wish would have been already here.

The title of the article is "Radeon HD 4870 X2 not selling well" so this seemed like the appropriate forum.

Article?. What article?. It's just a small 7 lines post on Fudzilla, for God's sake, it's Fudzilla!!!!!, with no proof links but a "we've learned that...". If this qualifies as "article" for you, they you have really low standards for your sources.

In this subforum we couldn't care less on how well our 8 months old card is selling today, we are here to discuss problems, post solutions and try to help each other, a Fudzilla link telling how great are the sales of the GTX 295 has no place here.

Please Rollo try to contribute to nvnews with positive and helpful information like the excellent 3D vision article you linked at the GTX 200 subforum and do not spam this section.

Hypocrisy?

Or "Turnabout is fair play"?

You were all to eager to believe an unnamed source about return statistics that showed NVIDIA in a less favorable light, but here you are all indignant when an unnamed source tells us ATi can't even sell 4870X2s for $100 less when NVIDIA has a competing part.

Hypocrisy anyone?

Rollo is far worse than a troll. He is a member of the NVidia focus group. It's his job to undermine ATI, and tout NV. He gets paid with NV stuff, like video cards, mobos, etc.

He was banned by Anandtech at one time. The only way they let him back, was he had to label himself as a focus group member, and his name was changed to nRollo. Goto Anand's forums and look for the name nRollo.

Well since you're not answering my question :)

I just wanted to point out that Nvidia Focus Group members are required to post in a PROFESSIONAL manner. I understand Prostitutes are also professionals but I am assuming that PROFESSIONAL in this instance requires some semblance of decency when discussing matters, not trolling.

As posted by Rollo himself on the Anandtech forums.

We receive hardware/software/information from NVIDIA for review, and to use to correct misinformation, help with end user issues.

We are sometimes asked to post PR statements on current topics, as NVIDIA company policy does not allow employees to post on forums.

We are asked to forward user concerns with product functionality that we run across to appropriate staff at NVIDIA for correction.

Some of us moderate on NVIDIA forums.

We are asked not to market products, only to post factual information that can be verified, in a professional manner.

We are required to post our affiliation with NVIDIA in our sigs.

I fielded this question as I have experience for the last two years + with the NVIDIA run focus group, and prior to that with the AEG run focus group.

The AEG run focus group had the same intent, but was not run as rigidly structured. What we have been since NVIDIA took it over is what they wanted it to be all along.

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=2165551

Are you going to forward my product functionality request to Nvidia?

LOL

That's right....I'm not a troll...cause I'm not trolling for controversy....and I've been an nvidia user for many years and I've found these forums very helpful. I bought ATi because it was the best bang for the buck when I was in the market.....not out of loyalty or because nvidia doesn't make good products....but because Ati was the best choice at that time.

I am sick of your bs trolling ways.....you criticize Lord Juanlo for his source on the card failure stats....then you are so bullheaded/mentally handicapped that you post a one phrase comment from FUD that has no backup.....only a complete tool, or someone with a reasoning disability would do something that foolish....

My original request stands...which site's Juanlo's outstanding original idea...that a mod simply remove Rollo's ability to even post in the other graphics card's forum....until such time that he actually owns something to discuss in here....

I'm tired of these threads.....I'm sure many others are as well..

Like I said, the title of the article is "Radeon HD4870X2 is not selling well" so this is the appropriate forum.

Even though the 4870X2 costs a lot less, people are choosing to pay more for GTX295s according to the article. Apparently people prefer to pay extra for the performance and feature set of the GTX295.
