View Full Version : 9800 Gx2 only using 1 core??! help

Here's my problem. I am running an Asus EN9800GX2 video card but it only seems to be using one of the cores. In windows device manager I only see 1 card. In GPUz it shows up as only 1 core with SLI disabled. In nVidia control panel I don't have the option to select running with multiple GPUs. All the Power cords are plugged into the card and showing green lights. I've tried just about all I can think of to make the 2nd core appear without any luck.

Here is what I'm running:

Asus EN9800GX2 video card
Vista ultimate 64bit
EVGA nForce 780i SLI motherboard (with latest Bios P08)
Core 2 quad Q9450
8gigs of Gskill 1066 (4x2gig)
Enermax Galaxy 1000w power suply

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've spend the last 4 nights trying to figure this one out.

I've Attached 2 pics. GPUz and Nvidia control panel

Something is not right. Try reconnecting the power cables to the card or using other cables. It sounds like the PSU to me but you definitely can't rule out the card either.

I've just changed the 8 pin and 6 pin connectors a different set on the power supply. The card still lights up green as before. Still only showing 1 core.

You really shouldn't use an image host that doesn't have porn everywhere...

Try reinstalling your drivers. It will show only one core per card though, Theres no drop down option to select the second card in GPUz?

In your device manager. Do you see any devices under misc or uninstalled? Such as "3d Acellerator" ect? The second 9800GX2 card uninstalled will show up as this,
