yep, just been waitin on the x64 build too. It's supposed to be out by the end of the day.

Windows 7 has reached build number 7105 (or 7077) which is the RC Escrow. This means that it could be the build that would be released as a public release candidate for Windows 7, but don’t take my word on it, as per the MSDN RC page leak, it will be made public in May.

1. Improved networking support, the work in the local network
2. Added support for some previously incompatible programs
3. Extras in the LP and small cosmetic interface improvements
4. Added support for new drivers for various devices
5. Extended support sensory displays
6. A small optimization and changes in the kernel

software support is pretty darn good, if it doesnt run, right click the executable and mess with compatability mode.

All i know is the betas are prolly done when the fish wallpaper is gone, as its a joke (fighting fish, betta, get it ...)

Installed 7077 x64. Works great. Not much different than 7068. Size of the build is smaller, so there is speculation that possibly the debugging code has been removed.

I can tell you guys this about Windows 7...once its released and available, I'll be dropping Windows Vista altogether. Since build 7000 I've been dual booting Vista 32-bit and Seven 64-bit, but using Seven exclusively. With Vista, I always dual booted with XP because Vista would bomb so much.

Has anyone run comparitive benchmarks from 7068 to 7077? (or 7000 and 7077)? I recall a blog doing those every now and then but I can't find the link anymore.

7077 x64 installed... I hear 7079 is out (not leaked).

Not out, just compiled. As a general rule of thumb, they seem to do just about a build per day. 7079 was compiled on April 7th. 7080 was compiled on the 8th. The latest in the pre-RTM branch seems to be 7106, also compiled on the 8th.

winmain_win7rc branch:
7077.0.winmain_win7rc.090404-1255 - official RC Escrow
7078.0.winmain_win7rc.090406-1758
7079.0.winmain_win7rc.090407-1902
actual build in winmain_win7rc branch:
7080.0.winmain_win7rc.090408-1900

pre-RTM winmain branch:
6.1.7105.0.winmain.090404-1235
actual build in winmain branch: 6.1.7106.0.winmain.090408-1623

There is no leak of 7105. It is just a renamed 7068. The RC that will be released to public in the end of may will be tagged build 7100. Anything in the 71xx series builds is pre-RTM branch.

Up and running with the x64 build. Everything seems to be extremely snappy so far. We'll see how she handles everything once it's all installed. I'm happy so far though! :D

Right click MY COMPUTER, and go to MANAGE.

Go to DISK MANAGEMENT

You should see your hard drive there, might have to make it active.
