For sure. Everything I have read points to the D0 needing quite a bit less voltage for the same clocks. I will be getting one when they arrive down here soon. They also run quite a bit cooler.

yea ,from tankguy's 319.00 but my last i920 needed 1.46 volts to stay @ 4.3 now i've back down the new DO too 1.336 volts @ 4.4 LOL it is very stable @ this volts
P6T D v1

Love this new processor.
How about running Prime in the background.

What are you using to cool it 68C is a bit on the hot side.

Prolimatech Magelhem, with two 2100 rpm's push pull config,68 is not that high when it is 79 degrees in the house running prime @ 4.4 HT off...r u kiddin me ?
Intel Core 2 eXtreme QX9650 ,got 1 too wife loves it now,
Hmm might just exchange my i7 for a D0, as it seems to overclock much better.

Might do the same thing this summer. Right now I don't have the time for stuff like this.
But the new stepping looks nice, great improvements regarding temps and voltages.

I take it that from the temps your getting HT is disabled, also can you run 20 passes of linx with that overclock ?
If not then im not at all impressed, 4.4Ghz with HT off and a boot into windows is nothing out of the norm...
Hit 4.4Ghz with HT enabled and 20 passes of linx and prime stable and i might go 'wow'.
:)

You may not be impressed, but Flight Sim X at thos speeds 4 hour flights in the new Aerosofts F-16 with just a few Enviroment's in very-very stable enough for me ..
thanks

I'm not being funny hewlett, but.....I have booted into windows and ran 3dmark06 at 4.2Ghz with HT on....I can also play games like that but....that doesnt mean its stable. Temps go a little high for my liking and although i can get around 20 mins in prime, stable ,it will not do more than 7 passes of Linx.
You have a good overclock there with what seems like low temps, however i dont think you have properly stressed it for stability yet...would be nice to see what the D0 stepping revision is like in that regards.

yea but can u run the sim @ 4.4 @ 1.3 volts ?

Nope i can't, as i pointed out in my other post my CPU tends to run a little hot at anything above 4Ghz. However, with vdroop off and a Vcore of 1.35 i can boot into windows at 4.2Ghz and run 3Dmark with HT on but theres no way i'd use that for 24/7 OC and it definately isnt stable.
I'm just curious as to how hot a D0 revision CPU would get at 4.4Ghz at 1.3Vcore HT enabled running Prime and Linx and if it would be stable enough to pass those tests.
If it does pass the stability tests at that clock and Vcore with HT on and reasonable temps (anything under 85c on the cores), then you would certainly get a wow from me.
I run a 24/7 OC of 3.6Ghz @ 1.225v, not spectacular i know but my cpu idles around 24c, 35c on all cores and loads at 65c, 70c on all cores when being stress tested. I used prime blend test for 12 hours and did 60 passes of Linx without a hiccup. I can go to 3.8 with the same Vcore but with 5c more on all cores and surface temp when idling and 10c more under load.

Hey man, Im not out here to see whose proc. will boot into windows at what volt..Im saying if you have ever flown FSX with the new F-16 fully loaded with All it's features out of seattle or los angels at dusk rippin down the runway,@ 4.4 with or without HT ,Which this proc.. will do just fine , Well u'll just have to try it..alll @ 1.34 volts and very low temps with prolimatech=very nice. That's all man ,I can't play linx or Prime .

Your original posts didn't mention anything about FSX, nor i dont think from what you originally posted that anyone is interested in what you play.
You posted that you got the speed of your processor to 4.4@1.35v with no evidence that it is even that stable. As i said im curious to know just how stable it really is. Is that such a hard thing to ask? Apologies if you have misinterpreted my posts in some way but it seems i have hit a raw nerve with you somehow. :|

You are better off with HT disabled if you play games anyway. Games carn't tell the diffrence from a pysical core or a virtual core. With HT on games perform worse on the i7 about 3-5%.
