I sort of stopped playing games with my pc in 2004 and just worked instead, but now with my very old system (don't laugh), it's a 3200xp (2.2 I think) with a grand old Ti4200, but still played Rome Total War well enough with 512 ram on XP Pro; I want a new one to play games on again (and work).

I'm looking at this system which has the 9800GTX on it's own, but I'm a noob so asking what you others think of it: http://www.ginger6.com/gaming-intel-gaming-fusion-9800gtxi-intel-gaming-p-31989.html I'm just upping the stock cooler and will use XP Pro and maybe Windows 7 as a dual OS.

So good choice or what?

Also my cash is very limited, so the price listed is all I have to spend.

TY on any help

Would you be willing to assemble it yourself?

£540 is your absolute limit including delivery?

Do you have any re-usable parts from your current rig, Case/Ram/HHd's or are you selling the lot?

Either way I'll start listing random parts then cut corners when the price goes over...
(because I like imaginary hardware shopping)

imho I would not go for the pc listed on that page. Its expensive for old technology.

Now you are going to stare at me like im crazy but check out dell and some codes.

I saw a really nice quad core dell machine the other day which is nice than the one you posted for £460.

Total I can afford would be £575 and that would be for everything including delivery, but Ginger6 has a 5% off their price right now, so that would be taken off the total. I am unable to build a system because of poor health right now, but I still need to have a new pc, so I'm buying one built already.

Operating system will be XP Pro, which I already have.

Btw, why Dell?

I always thought Dell was... Well a rip off with sub standard parts, etc...

My old system will be going to my young son to play with for awhile.

something like this and spend the rest on a graphics card, Which would be a GTX260 but you wouldnt be able to power it.

Looks good.

I did locate another site, which I have not heard of before but has very good reviews on the net.

http://www.arbico.co.uk/Arbico-8469-XL-Custom-Built-Gaming-PC-p-18330.html

The GTX260 is pretty costly and would really push any system way over what I can afford, but why not the 9800GTX+? Should be able to play all games with medium to ultra high settings even if it is another renamed board.

I am again looking for input on the card and system, so do speak up as I'm 99% here know more about these systems than I do.

TY in advance
