God,

First I go to an Annual check up. He starts picken around in my mouth and is like "Oh I found a cavity" sticking his pick inside the decay,

Mind Numbing Pain when he does that.

He then says, You will either need a: for 1 tooth, a Root Canal + Crown for one tooth, And a filling for the other,

Problem. No Insurance, I have to opt to get it removed,

3 weeks later (yes I had to wait that long and Live in IBProfien)

I come in, He fills the one tooth and pulls the other,

After a week or So, the Cap right next to the tooth he pulled is aching, So aparently, The tooth under the Crown has been cracked down to the Nerve, As a result of the prior extraction

Another Root Canal That I can't afford, So I probably going to have to get this tooth pulled. Which I am not happy about at all. cuz it's another 200 Dollars out of my wallet.

Moral of Story, Dentist are evil. I wish I could get use a "door + string" to take them all out rather than go back.

Moril of story,. Dentist are ****ing evil. *crucified*

Uhh...

I have this stuff called Toothpase you could borrow. Might want to get your own Toothbrush though. It goes in your mouth, and I don't think you want to use mine. Both can be found in the grocery store.

While your at it, pick up this liquid stuff called Mouth Wash. I suggest Listerine. Ohh, and a box of Floss might be a good idea too.

I just brush everyday. I should probably floss too after reading this.

My part time job gives you dental after a year and prescription coverage after 2. Try and find that somewhere else!

Did you know tooth decay is actually just a symptom of an infectious disease called "dental caries"? This is why some people have never had cavities, they just haven't been exposed to the bacteria. Most of us can probably trace our infection down to all that forced-kissing of grandma when we were kids.

Anyway, there is some research into creating a vaccine for tooth decay:

http://www.harvard-magazine.com/on-line/01026.html

I doubt it will happen though since it would put too many dentists out of business.

Most people think that tooth decay is the bacteria eating your tooth enamel. This isn't really true. The bacteria eats sugar (sucrose to be exact) and produces an acid which is what eats away your teeth.

It is true that staying away from sweets and sugars will reduce your chances of a cavity. This also includes fresh fruits and fruit juice. So "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" ... but not the dentist. People who eat mostly breads, meats, a few veggies with very little fruit in their diet have healthier teeth. Tea can also prevent the bacteria from binding to the enamel on your tooth.

BTW, my short term cure for a toothache is as follows:

1) Take 600mg of ibuprofen. Don't bother with tylenol or asprin, they suck for toothaches. Ibuprofen is best because it is also an anti-inflamatory.

2) Sit or stand, don't lay down. My theory is that if you lay down, your legs are at the same level as your head and the blood pressure around your mouth is slightly increased. Higher blood pressure = worse throbbing.

3) Apply an ice pack until your cheek goes numb.

I'm quite aware of what toothpaste is, As a matter of fact I brush every day,

my Cavities are a result of a stomach disorder of mine that causes acid reflux from my stomach, Which eats away my teeth, It used to be a "lot" worse.

Until I had surgery which helped prevent it 90% of the time. But it still happens from time to time.

My First crown was a result of fixing my teeth after the surgery, Second tooth that required an extraction was a result of a chipped tooth that died and started to decay because of it, And the filling was a result of that decay spreading,

You shouldn't make such wild presumptions to why everyone has a cavity. Cuz Believe me, Tooth decay is not always as preventive as people seem to think it is.

Some people are more vulnerable to it than others

I havent been to the dentist in a few years (like 6 I think...) , more because of the inconvenience then anything else. I intend to soon though. Still no cavities or any other problems as far as I can tell.

I was told by the dentist a few years back that it is very unlikely that I will ever need a filling. My teeth are made out of titanium it seems;) :D

Missed my dental appointments for almost exactly 10 years of uninsured poverty. As soon as I got workplace insurance, I went. No problems (other than a 50-minute cleaning).

Daily brushing and flossing is good and inexpensive prevention. I like Crest. My only fillings are from four molars with roots that didn't grow together correctly.

heh, I got a few cavities. I guess I got alot of stress because the hot dentists that was workin' on me told me that she noticed that I have grinded the top off many of my teeth:lol:

That explains the wierd feeling:rofl

other than that, dentists said my teeth are fine:D
