I was astonished to find a BFG GF FX 5800 Ultra at Best Buy in Houston today. I did not think that any of them would make it to retail distribution...price $399.99. As soon as 5900 Ultra makes it out, I expect whatever 5800 U's that are left will plummet in price....

So then, NVIDIA's partners get NV30 to retail just 2-3 weeks before they deliver NV35...

Now we can surely and once-and-for-all state that NV30 was a complete failure in retail...:(

Old news. I bought my PNY Verto GeForce FX 5800 Ultra retail from newegg.com in March.

I saw some 5800 Ultra retail cards at a couple Best Buys in Chi-town about 6 weeks ago.

Here in the Netherlands they are in stock for some time (7-8 weeks)

They are expecting the 5900U's (asus9950U) in about a week.

retail does not mean sites like newegg and so on/so forth... it means on shelves in places like bestbuy and circuit city and what have you...

I sure would'nt get a FX5800 Ultra since the FX5900 will be out shortly unless you want it because it will be a rare F--Kup by Nvidia.

For sure I would wait for the 5900.

It's VERY rare u saw a 5800ultra on a retail shelf.
Or anywhere for that matter.

There is non to be found on the net at all.
It's a rare card for sure.
I'll be keeping mine, not 4sale.

I'll say this tho. The 5800 ultra is a much better
card than most people think. ;)
If u clock one at 550+ and 1100+ it's a ass kicker. :D

Might not be much to you, but 4 beans still is top-of-the-line $ in my book.
And TOTL better be an a$$kicker.
