Does anyone have any of the XGI Volari cards?
They were some of the very few GPUs released by someone other than ATI or Nvidia in the past 10 years. They were meant to compete with the Radeon 9600 and Geforce FX 5700 cards and failed pretty miserably.
I've looked around ebay a bit and I can only find laptop Volari V3 cards. I'm interested in getting my hands on a V8 (or a V8 Duo preferably) to add to my graphics card collection.
I really don't know where to look for one if they aren't on ebay.
I have some relatively rare old crap (Voodoo 5 5500, STMicro Kyro II, Rendition Verite 1000, an original Voodoo Graphics card, and two Voodoo 2 12Mb cards in a functional SLI configuration) but the Volari cards sort of slipped under the radar before I could get my hands on one.
Has anyone ever even seen a Volari V8 or a V8 Duo in person?
Volaris are most likey MIA.

I know they're out there, they sold them for a while, I'm just trying to find someone who actually has one.

I have the one with 2 GPU's on :o The big one. What was the name. It was a dual GPU card.

Do you have it in a working rig?

Really? That's the Volari Duo V8 or V5. Would you be interested in selling it? :)

Yea the Volari Duo V8 :D That card was hyped so much :p Will see if i can find it :)
Free bilinear filtering....
I think that might be all I can say good about its performance. On paper it should be able to sit in between a Geforce FX 5700 Ultra and 5900 series, but the drivers made it game more like a 5200.
Maybe the drivers got better, and maybe a stronger cpu helps. Stick it in a C2D rig and see how it runs Far Cry, or IF it can run Far Cry. :p

CaptNKILL, why man why. We got mobile phones with faster hardware than this. Do you really want such a stud in the collection?

Name 5 graphics cards from the past 10 years that were aimed at the enthusiast market and weren't using ATI or Nvidia chips.
That's why I want one of these. :p
I suppose you're also looking for a Deltachrome S8?

It's not a duo though. Just a V8.

I remember back 15yrs or so I had a Matrox G200 card (I think) that I thought then was better than sliced bread.:)

I have a dead FX 5200, but I'd like something a bit more interesting from that line. A 5800 Ultra would be awesome. ;)
As for the S3 DeltaChrome S8, I don't even remember hearing about that one. That would be a good addition to the collection as well. :)

Cool. That's the first one I've seen for sale anywhere. That's a bit more than I'd spend on one though.
