Despite the name of this thread, let it be known that this has nothing to do with Dungeons & Dragons. The last thing we need is to have some Christian fundies latch onto this story and begin a crusade against Greenwood, Weis, Hickman, Salvatore, Tolkien, or any best-selling fantasy author.

Wow, that kind of thing brings back memories of when I was a kid. We used to play D&D and the local churches got wind of it and decided that we were all under the power of satan. So they put up posters all over the place with pictures of young girls (now that I think about it, the churchy people were all perverts...) who had *gasp* black marks *gasp* on their heads and hands, which they had got through playing D&D and opening their souls up to the devil. We were stopped from using the local youth centre and a few of my friends had all their D&D stuff burnt.
Strange how a social gathering that actively encourages you to use your imagination and depends on a belief in something that you can neither see nor touch. Something that is pure fantasy and fiction, can have those consequences.
And that's just religion, my god what about D&D!! ;)
