Interesting speculations. Could be good?
http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2009/4/22/nvidias-gt300-specifications-revealed---its-a-cgpu!.aspx

If for instance, nVidia gets a 2 GHz clock for the 512 MIMD cores, we are talking about no less than 3TFLOPS with Single-Precision. Dual precision is highly-dependant on how efficient the MIMD-like units will be, but you can count on 6-15x improvement over GT200.

This is not the only change - cluster organization is no longer static. The Scratch Cache is much more granular and allows for larger interactivity between the cores inside the cluster. GPGPU e.g. GPU Computing applications should really benefit from this architectural choice. When it comes to gaming, the question is obviously - how good can GT300 be? Please do bear in mind that this 32-core cluster will be used in next-generation Tegra, Tesla, GeForce and Quadro cards.

This architectural change should result in dramatic increase in Dual-Precision performance, and if GT300 packs enough registers - performance of both Single-Precision and Dual-Precision data might surprise all the players in the industry. Given the timeline when nVidia begun work on GT300, it looks to us like GT200 architecture was a test for real things coming in 2009.

:rofl

I don't think Big F***ing Graphical Collider is descriptive enough. Add in some WTF PWN Sauce XXX FTW then we have a real GPU!

This is where I don't for see them pullling it off.

If for instance, nVidia gets a 2 GHz clock for the 512 MIMD cores, we are talking about no less than 3TFLOPS with Single-Precision.

I don't think there has been a card yet with a shader clock that high. Using their logic a 1500mhz shader should be somewhere around 2.25 TFLOPs if I take it at face value. So somewhere between 2 and 2.5 could be more likely.

I said that GT300 will be something for AMD and Intel to stare at it with wide open mouth.

all that power it may have, but if the cost will be high then intel i think can afford to sell there cards for cheap if the performance is up there.

What about the bandwidth ?

256bit GDDR5 @ 4 GHz = 128 GB/s (the same sort of GDDR5 used in the 4870 cards)
256bit GDDR5 @ 7 GHz = 224 GB/s (with that Samsung GDDR5 @ 7 GHz)

384bit GDDR5 @ 4 GHz = 192 GB/s
384bit GDDR5 @ 7 GHz = 336 GB/s

512bit GDDR5 @ 4 GHz = 256 GB/s
512bit GDDR5 @ 7 GHz = 448 GB/s :drooling:

Hope my 8800GT is prepared to do PhysX duty lol.

Even my 9800GT (stock speeds and everything) is able to let me play Mirror's Edge with MAX settings, filtering and PhysX and it rocks (but maybe there are better games to put it to test) :P

2x GT300 in SLI (AFR mode FTW) *drools* ^_^

Now we only need somes games that would do something with that power...but that probably ain't gonna happend before the consolebarrier is lifted.
I wonder if Crysis still on top about 3 years?

Wonderfull news as now really is the time for something fresh and fast and of course who will you call and who will deliver. is their anyone else then nVidia i luuuve em :D

But first we shall all get 3D vision and as usual nVidia are leading the way..start save up your dollars/ dineros/ euros / kr as we shall all give money to the one who deserves it the most and in my book it's only nVidia who does that. hmm I wonder if they will try to hire me as their Pr Manager now LOL.

But it's true nVidia deliver over and over and it seems like that aint slowing down anyday but first give me the damn 3D Vision as that is a real revolution :D

Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Call of Juarez and STALKER: Clear Sky could all make good use of the GT300.

I'm sure there are more.

Hope not... the game visuals are impressive but the game itself... well... it was a bit dissapointing for me :(

How about these ones? :D

- Bioshock 2
- Half-Life 2: Episode 3
- Halo 3: OSDT
- Bionic Commando

Maybe they won't be as visually impressive as Crysis (or maybe yes, Episode 3 is still unknown, maybe a DX10/11 part? Who knows... ^_^) but we'll be enjoying some amazing pieces of software, just the perfect pack for me, at least :p

Only Stalker CS is still a tough road when the Godrays are shining, but Crysis is finally tamed here with the latest drivers. (offcourse it takes two topend cards, but it is)

We need a resurrection of PC-gfx. Rage and Doom4 maybe?
And offcourse I hope Vlave will surprice us with shiny new engine.

Heh, well I meant with a single GPU. :D

I'm sure 2 or 3 285s can handle damned near anything right now. :)

I wouldn't doubt the 512 shaders, but the 2Ghz seems unlikely. You would again end up with a huge chip like the GTX280 and we all know how it likes to almost start on fire. Probably they had a engineering sample that they threw under liquid nitrogen and got it there and so for viral marketing purposes that rumor got started.
