Newest rumours from Xbitlabs who got the rumour from HardTecs4U.

While we probably would have known about NV40 and the refresh, NV45, this is the first time that NV41/42/43 is actually mentioned by any site. Uttar, time to get your gear and dig up the info on these.

In the end of the second quarter 2004 all NVIDIA’s NV3x graphics processors will be replaced with variety of NV4x solutions. The NV36X will be replaced by NV41, whereas the GeForce FX 5200 aka NV34 will be succeeded by the NV43. There will be also the NV42 to come in the middle of 2004, but I am not sure what it is. In fact, this may be either a faster or a slower incarnation of the NV43. Also by the end of the second quarter next year NVIDIA will set another enthusiast chip to go – the NV45.

All NV4x chips except NV40 support only PCI Express interconnection, so, poor you if you just got an AGP 8x platform.

********pci express only? shots self in foot is what Nvidia did, since 90% of us wont have pci express anytime soon*******

na, I don't think this will be much of a problem since Intel will heavyly push PCI express in the second half of 2003 and the nv40 (when available) is only meant for the enthousiast market and not for the mainstream segment. Hardware geeks will have no problem upgrading to PCI express and buying this high-end graphiccard to show off their higher 3dmark03 score ;)

Anyway the next architecture from ATI (R420?) which will be available at the same time as the nv40 also supports PCI express.

I think it's gonna be about 3-4 months later than they're latest ship date and that they're all only gonna perform at about 70% of what the paper launch implies they will.

Oh, and they're going to have another "DriverGate" about 2 months after launching.....

i think those rumors are way to early to be accurate, probly just a guess.

Most likely they will support both, maybe using the same kind of bridge chip technology as ATI will employ with the 420. After all they picked up all that tech when they ate 3DFX.
