View Full Version : Is Albert Pujol's the most under-rated player in baseball?

I keep hearing everyone talking about all these other players and their stats and so forth. There is A-Rod and Ramirez. The hitters like Ichiro, the "clutch" players like Big Papi and Youklis and Jeter and so on.

And yet, Pujols has been the single most consistent player in the game in his first 8 or 9 seasons ever and while he is mentioned as a star, he is not mentioned in the same way as someone like A-Rod is (was?) mentioned. His defense at 1'st and his hitting stats are absolutely ridiculous. Other than steals, he dominates pretty much every other category there is to dominate. Hell, he hasn't even struck out 100 times in a season thus far.

When his contract is up, I wonder how much teams will pay to get him on their roster

i heard tons of people talking about him every season. Not as much as papi, but he is always up there.
Elite player no doubt, and should fetch just as much cash as ARod or Papi.

Well, here in St. Louie, we appreciate him, that's for sure. He is probably the best all around player in the game right now, hits for average, for power, RARELY strikes out, is a good smart baserunner, a real team player. And his defensive ability is WAY under rated, he makes some fantastic plays at 1st base.

Here he is JUST before he took this pitch deep at a game I went to a few years ago :D
