Basically the same as the reg. 285 but with double the ram, will this run with my Power Supply? It's in my sig all my info, 620 watt Corsair PSU, just this one card for grfx.

80 views and nobody has anything to say!??!?!

The original 285 has a 550w requirement, so I assume I should be good. RIGHHHHTT?(lee63)

I think is good enough, my GTX280 worked with a Corsair VX550 (the powersupply was a bit more warmer at finger touch) and in my current computer works very nicely with TX750
(q6600, 2x2 GB ddr2 667, GTX280, Xonar D2, 2x 500GB Seagate 7200.11, 1 dvd reader, 1 dvd writer, mainboard p45-ds3r).

Take into account that when Nvidia says the power supply specs is for a complete system not only for the card :P

The Corsair 620 is a good PSU. It should be enough.

It probably would use another 10-15W at most.

Wonder if I can use the EVGA upgrade feature, since I just bought my GTX 285 SSC and it costs as much as the 2GB GTX 285...

Is the 2gb useful with a single card or does it bench just 4% or something higher than the 1gb?

Looks nice IMO, but I wish the memory clocks weren't lower than the regular version. The 2GB versions apparently use .8ns memory while the older 1GB versions use .7ns. These new 2GB models probably won't be able to overclock to the 2700-2800MHz levels we're used to seeing.

Yea, GTA 4 is one reason why I was looking for the huge memory. This should be a large step up from my 8800 ultra don't ya think?

Yes. I went from an 8800GTX to my current card and the difference was night and day :) And I have the 1GB.... you should be fine!

I see what you're getting at, it's just I want to run GTA 4 at completely maxed out graphics. This should enable me to do that, and also run at much higher FPS then what I am now on crippled graphics options.

I'd wait for a 1gb vs 2gb gtaiv bench before splashing the cash

From a lot of reviews of the Corsair HX-620W PSU it was able to put out around 700-750W before it would start to fail. That PSU is very good. About the only thing it probably wouldn't be good for is a SLI gtx 290.

Yea it's cool, all in all, I think it will be a great card and handle a lot. Plus one thing to think about, the next card is on it's way this year.

Well, I installed and am currently gonna go make sure the card works well! The BEST PART!!!:D

edit: WOW this thing runs wayyyy cooler then the 8800 ultra, course the ultra was O/C'd but still this thing boots to stock @ 40c!!

Well you could always buy the 2Gb 285 from a place that would allow you to return it for a refund. If you weren't happy you could get your cash back.

I like it, it's gonna take a bit of tweaking games n stuff....but it's all good.

I may OC it but not right now, I wanna see the real life difference going from the 8800 ultra to this for awhile.

Enjoy your card. If I didn't already have well overclocked GTX 260 Core 216 Tri-SLi, I might be looking at one of these myself.

Your power supply is plenty big enough for runing one.It just is the extra gig of memory worth the extra money.
