When I run core temp it say 100c ,does that mean I can run the cores in the 80c and still be safe.

Never let your CPU get anywhere near 80C.

If it hits 70C you're doing something wrong IMO.

Your heatsink must not be seated properly. That or you have a whole tube of thermal paste on that thing.

I try to keep the cores below 70C while folding and all of them are 100%...

That is true for everyday programs. But if you are trying to check stability in an overclocked system, running Prime or an equivalent program will usually hit 80 easy. I never run it more than a couple of hours myself though.

I think that temps should always be stated in terms of the tool being used.

A general guideline is that you shouldn't let any one core get above 85 degrees. To test, download eVGA's ELeet monitor and run Prime95 with small FFTs.

I did'nt mean I was running at a 100c .On coretemp the Tj max is a 100c.When I run prime 95 small I hit around 67c ,but in gameing it never goes that high.I was reading a article and a intel guy said it was safe to run close to 100c ,but try keeping in the 80's c.He said it not like a core 2 duo it can take a lot more heat because of how it is made. I keep it at 4160 with the turbo on and the highest its gets is 67c.If I run 8 threads then it hits around 77c
But I can't tell that running 8 threads helps in any games that I have played so far.

Those temps will be fine. Core temps go up and down and it's not like you are running that 24/7.
