w00t! Another Korn album will be finished soon:cool: :headbang:

Frontman Jonathan Davis said the song sets the tone for the band's as-yet-untitled new album. Korn have recorded music for all 10 songs on the record, and Davis is currently writing lyrics and recording vocals.

"I was on a trip going around the country writing lyrics and stuff, and now I'm done with that," Davis revealed. "I'll be done probably in a couple weeks."

Once again, Davis stressed how brutal and uncompromising the new stuff will be.

"It's a way big departure from the last album [Untouchables]," he said. "It's not so overproduced. This one is more pissed off and more raw. Personally, I've been having tough times to dwell on and it inspires me to write tough things."

Korn decided to record a disc less than a year after Untouchables because on their last tour they realized their newest songs weren't gelling onstage.

"Untouchables was something that we had to do, but a lot of the songs we didn't end up playing live," Davis explained. "Some of them didn't connect, some of them were weird. At one point, we were only playing two or three songs off the album and we went, 'You know what, man? We gotta go back and do the album we want to do.' "

It's called "our last didn't sell too well so let's rush another one out so people don't forget about us."

It's the sad truth, but I did read that's why somewhere. :(

It was good, but I agree with what they say about live performances. Untouchables is just odd live:D

Don't get me wrong, I was there at BB to pick it up the day it was released, and yes I enjoyed it. However it didn't sell as they were hoping.

Korn are bankrupt, they need to release a successful album.

They still own though, everyone who knows music knows that Korn were the pioneers of the whole nu-metal thing.

GOD Untouchables was AWEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can only hope they can get back to their sound in Korn and Life is Peachy again. Jonathan Davis just has to understand....YOU CAN'T SING BUDDY!!! It's okay though, it's not the end of the world. You couldn't sing on your first two albums, so don't sing on your next one!!!!

Down with nu-metal!

Long live OLD METAL!!!

*moshes to some Testament & Nuclear Assault* :afro:

Oh, and even though Exitwound railed against the latest album from Manowar - "Warriors Of The World United" - awhile back, I must say that it's one hell of bold step for a "viking"-esque metal band to do two covers of songs that are FAR from metal and pull it off pretty decently. The two cover songs are "Nessun Dorma" (that's right - the Puccinni(sp?) opera song) and Elvis's "An American Trilogy".

Eric Adams, IMO, is the best vocalist in metal and these two covers trully show how extraordinary his range can be. And I must admit that if any other Metal act would try to pull something like this off, they'd sound like barking dogs. So I gotta give credit for Manowar for showing some serious testicular fortitude in covering these particular songs. Sadly, the album, true to Exitwound's review, sucks in general. Their last effort "Louder Than Hell" was much better.

Wait...this thread was about Korn...where was I?

Ah yes...DOWN with Nu-Metal!!

*sacrifices a virgin while blaring Bolt Thrower* :D

Don't make me shoot you sy:p

Davies has amazing vocals, just because he does not sing like that fat sod pavarotti does not mean he cannot sing. I prefer old metal myself, but I love Korn:D

Korn may have "started" "nu" metal, but they certainly have their own sound, enough so to distingush them anyhoo...

I dont think theyre new or old metal.. theyre just korn :D

I used to be really into nu-metal, but I've migrated towards old metal instead. Well, not so much old really I suppose, but other types, such as black metal and death metal, oh and prog rock! But, if it's good, I'll still listen to it. I'm still a big fan of the Deftones, Nonpoint, and a few other nu-metal bands.

Will I buy the next Korn record? Perhaps if it is to my liking. Take Staind for instace, I own their releases Dysfunction and Break the Cycle, but 14 Shades of Gray is just so horrid and sales-hungry and it sickens me. Korn isn't there yet, they've realized they cannot alienate their core fanbase any longer.
