Apologies to any who might have read a similar
post on a linux list... since, I've become
convinced that it is not software related.

I have a Viewsonic 2000 flat panel monitor,
which has both analog and digital inputs.
When I power on my presario with a 5200
ultra card, everything is fine if I use the
analog connection or if I put the adapter on
the dvi port of the card and again go to the
monitor's analog input. However if I try to
use the DVI port directly, the monitor reports
that the frequencies are out of range (74.3khz
and 59.0 hz). The monitor work fine with the
dvi interface from an ati card (since returned
for other reasons). Using the nvidia driver
under linux, the driver reports that it is
setting the rates at 75khz and 60, but the
monitor gives the same error. I've tried 2
copies of the card and 2 different cables.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
bp

As I said, this problem occurs when the computer
is turned on -- not linux related. The fact
that it doesn't go away when a driver tries to
set the rates is just another piece of evidence.
