I have the oportunity to get a GTX 275 at 50% discount, how much more powerful is it over the 8800GTS?
Is it worth me upgrading now, or waiting until the DX11 parts are out? I'll probably get the same deal on a DX11 part.
Thanks, AStaley.

50% discount? As in... $125?
Hell yes, buy it.
At the very least you can sell it for $250 on ebay when the GT300 is released.
You should see a rather large improvement in just about every game. Especially shader-heavy games and games with Physx.
Here is a basic comparison between the two cards:
8800GTS - 128 shader processors, 10.2Mpix\41.6Mtex fillrate, 41.6Gb\sec bandwidth
GTX 275 - 240 shader processors, 20.2Mpix\50.6Mtex fillrate, 127Gb\sec bandwidth
Quite a difference. :)

I would be all over a 275 for 50% off if I owned an 8800GTS. You can likely get a decent OC out of it as well. Try it with the below software.

I would say it is about twice as powerful at the very least.
I love my old g92. Great card for many years but, the newer cards definitely help with a higher-res display.

Technically it's more like £137, for the EVGA GTX 275 SSC :D
As I've recently found, working in the IT industry and having contact with volume suppliers really has it's advantages.
Anyway, placed my order for the GTX 275. Thanks for the responses.
