just tried them out... seems like they don't have the same optimisations that previous 185 drivers have... no boost in fear 2 or grid over the 182.50 but grid doesn't stutter with these drivers unlike older 185.xx releases... empire total war got about 10% boost however

Installed them...

CP loads slowly... Even with 2 X25 M's in RAID0. :o

IQ seems to be not as good as the 182.05 (which is still the best driver imho). At least in Burnout Paradise it isn't... More pop up. But I may be wrong at that... Maybe I'm seeing things. LOL. :D

Will test some other games later... But I must say, the 182.05 is fast enough to run every game on my system. I really don't need a driver update atm. Can't tell a lot of difference.

If a certain driver is 5% faster I dont even notice it. IQ thats what's important imho. :o

Edit; Far Cry 2 DX10 seems to run a little bit better and smoother, but that game sucks.

Edit; Counterstrike Source runs good also. But that game also runs good on 2 year old drivers. Lost Planet DX10 stutters a little bit, DX9 does not even start.

NICE! :D

Offtopic: Yeah, pretty fast. :D

I've had 2 Vertex 60GB in RAID0 also, but those drives degraded too fast in performance after writing and erasing al lot on them. These Intels don's have that problem. 75% full disks give 505MB/s average read. :p Pretty good. I think the Intels controller is better than Vertex's controller.

Edit;

I will try Gears of War and HAWX with these drivers later. Gonna watch some TV first.

Has anyone noticed if the 185 drivers make the nvidia control panel take much longer to load? I never had this problem with earlier drivers. It takes about 5 seconds when I right click on the desktop for the menu to load and it takes about 20 seconds for the control panel to load.

Automatically installs the new PhysX System Software version 9.09.0408.

Physx file isn't the version as stated on the site....it's still version 9.09.0203.

Read the release notes it states,

What’s New in Version 185.85

• Added support for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275.
• This driver version includes support for NVIDIA PhysX acceleration on all
GeForce 8‐series, 9‐series and 200‐series GPUs with a minimum of 256MB
dedicated graphics memory (this driver package installs NVIDIA PhysX
System Software v9.09.0408).
Note: The NVIDIA Control Panel erroneously reports the PhysX software version
as 9.09.0203. If you have installed graphics driver version 185.85, then the
NVIDIA PhysX software installed is version 9.09.0408.

Flickering came back in Mirror's Edge with these, but I'm sure it's an SLi setting (as I'm still new to this). I did turn on Ambient Occlusion and the framerate stayed constant in Left 4 Dead, also. Keeping these for now. :)

I get the pink floors in certain areas in counter-strike source I know its either aa or af prolly cause i am using 8x sli with supersampling. Other than that keepers for me..:)

So far so good, everything but trackmaina looks really bad with this card/drivers, all my other games seems to be happy with this card.

Heres a screen shot from the game,I have reinstalled the game and drivers and both did not fix this....Any suggestions

Yeah, Really annoying that I have to constantly switch back and forth between idle to fix it.

Read my post....
The site says it will install Physx 9.09.0408.
The file is called "PhysX_9.09.0408_SystemSoftware.exe" but the contents of the file is still driver version "9.09.0203"...

BTW.
Desktop -> right mouse click crashes "explorer.exe" in Vista x64.
selecting "Personalize", "explorer.exe" just crashes...
selecting "Nvidia control panel" crashes "explorer.exe" but starts the control panel afterwards.
:headexplode: (how did this bug get past the WHQL validation team...maybe too busy testing windows "7")
Similar problems exist with the XP version, the control panel missing.

Buggy driver, just reverted back to 182.50

not the driver's fault... i think something is wrong with your OS... it's working fine over here no crashes

I use the international build... OS not the problem (tested with same result on 3 PC's with different Nvidia cards..)

Re-downloading the driver again, maybe bad checksum in the file...

hmm is the nvidia service running? or have you disabled any of the startup files for nvidia?... also try removing the old physx drivers before installing

The AOC DX10 Test still does not work. Also, i still have the same problems with the hardware deinterlacing in powerDVD.
