All the years I've used FF, I've never experienced lockups (until now).
I get random hard lockups and need to restart my comp to get into windows again.
Maybe it's just me, but is 3.0.10 borked?
I've started using IE8, no problems with it so far.

Anyone else getting hard lockups with the latest version of FF?

it locks up your entire PC?

It seems to be with different people. Back when FF started becoming popular, I was using 1.0, and hated it. It would crash constantly, so I went back to IE. When 1.5 came out and everyone started complaining about how bloated it was, I tried it again and loved it. I've used FF ever since.

I would try to uninstall, and then reinstall the 3.0.10 client, and then reinstall your addons one by one. If it still persists, time to move on to a different browser.

Yeah, it's really weird, it locks up my entire PC.
I can run other programs w/o any lockups whatsoever.
Before I made this post, I uninstalled and re-installed 3.0.10, so far so good.
I've always just let FF install the latest updates.
I think from now on I'll uninstall and re-install whenever a new release comes out.

I was using the new FF builds (last 2 or 3) on Vista and it would constantly crash. Fortunately Vista allowed me to kill the app instead of getting a bsod.

It did it so much I finally got fed up and that's why my 2 Win 7 builds are completely FF free. Can't stand the crashes and slow performance anymore. Chrome and IE8 and Opera ftw !!!

OK now I'm getting concerned, Chrome also locked up my PC.
My wife just told me that she has been getting lockups with FF on her laptop.
WTF is going on???

Any ideas?

It's about the same I would say. It is still Beta, not full/final release but overall it's been extremely good for me.

And it's just plain FAST :D

What OS are you using btw? I have never had Chrome lock up on me. Each tab runs its own process so if one tab is frozen, you can kill THAT process through task-manager and the application will still be working.

Some plugins/add ons crashed mine.
Make sure you don't have any 3rd party plug ins. by 3rd party, I mean like from a company you or I have never heard of.

The little chance I had to use Chrome, it did seem fast.
FF and Chrome didn't crash on me, my comp flat out locked up while browsing.
I have to restart my comp each time it happens, meaning that everything locked up:
ctl-alt-del did nothing, my mouse cursor wouldn't move...a hard lockup!

Funny, I'm using IE8 right now, no lockups with it (crossing fingers).

Yah, IE8 is the most stable of the current browsers out there and with its enhancements, I am using it more and more.

Fast, stable, consistent :) Can't complain.
