Without standoffs the board + TRUE is about 7" tall.

I'm not sure if anyone makes a 5U server case.

Bman212121

Cause that is probably tall enough to fit all that stuff in there. That seems awefully big though...

Bman212121

I guess that's right though, 5U is 8.75"

Bman212121

So 1U is 1.75". That means that a 4U case should be 7" tall then.

I'll probably just end up with a tower case then, because I'd like to keep that cooler on that pc if I could.

Just found a 6U Intel case, but screw that because it's way too much.

Open Box 5U case... It's definitely not what I want but I might at least be able to find a 5U one.

This case looks like of cool but it doesn't say the height. I'm pretty sure it's only 4U. That and I don't need 15 hot swap bays.

Right size and price.

But damn that's ugly.

That and it doesn't have any front fans or filters. I'll have to keep looking.

No 5U cases at Tiger. They have a pretty nice selection of 4U cases though.

Hmm, well either I ditch the TRUE for my Zalman 9700 and try to stick it into a 4U, or I just get another desktop case.

It's funny how I can find so many desktop cases that are wide enough, but you don't find that in a server case. I just need to find a case that is about 19" tall and bolt a couple of L brackets to it. :p

Heck $60 and this almost works.

Just needs a front fan to blow across the hard drives. It has a mesh in the front already to trap dust. I definitely want filters for my case as it collects a lot of dust.

no idea what PSU, RAM, or case.
I dont mind spending the money, but i would like it to be worth it.

i need pretty much one of the biggest tower cases, so i have lots of room.

i would also need to get some case fans, but if its easier, i would prefer to plug them into the motherboard, rather than a fan controller.
