The demo was terrible; was a bore compared to Rallisport Challenge--even if it was more realistic.

i agree... it was really bad... i expected it to be better than rallisport... but no... it suxorz, only thing cool it has is windshield wipers:D

Haven't played the game myself just yet, but from the people who have it I hear the game is ... ok. Is it really worse than Rallisport Challenge? I would think they would improve this game quite a bit in order to compete with Rallisport Challenge....

I downloaded the demo when it first came out from Fileshack. I installed it, really expecting something mind blowing. Fired the demo up, and raced through the first track without hitting anything or rolling the car once. So I thought, "Beginner's luck, I'll try another track..." I loaded up the second track, and it was still really easy. Not only that, but the graphics aren't nearly as impressive as the screenshots. The car gets REAL dirty REAL fast, which I thought was cool, but all this dynamic lighting and these great environment effects that you see in the screenshots and movies, I don't remember seeing any of them.

Now, I will say that the demo does, or did, have a disclaimer at the beginning that says it's a demo of a product only 95% finished. Maybe I'm just too cynical, but I can't see the remaining 5% being every detail except for a muddy car. Perhaps I'm wrong, but it seems like there is still a lot of work left for the game.

I would pay 20 bucks for it, esp. since by that time there will be patches and the game should look like they make it look now, but I was pretty unimpressed with the demo.

Actually, there is a patch to addess some of the lighting issues. It looks *much* better after the patch, but still seems lifeless somehow.
