I'll let this thread stick around then.
The Geforce M GPUs aren't easy to come by, hopefully you can find one.

There are a couple things on ebay but I doubt they'd fit your system...
And they cost as much as an entire laptop.

Also, here's a 9600m GT for $200:

now now, you and i both know once something breaks it needs to be upgraded as much as possible lmao
ohhh snap!!!! those 8800's are in marlin which is not even 30 min away. im gonna have to go take a look at those in person to see if i can rip that sli assembly apart (id either have a spare or an ebay item)
MXM is kinda confusing... the slot is called 2.1 form factor which is being phased out now with the new 1xx 2xx cards and form factor 3.0 (but we wont worry about 3.0 for this lesson)
and within the 2.1 and 3.0 spec each card has a MXM type I,II,III,IV,or HE depending on its physical PCB size.
for example a 9600mGT is a MXM 2.1 slot with a typeII PCB, the 8800mGTX is a MXM 2.1 slot with a typeIII PCB. Most people assume typeII->III is incompatable... not true, it all depends on if you have the space requirements within the laptop...and obviously the appropriate cooling...and pray the manufacturer didnt lock out other cards via bios

Depending on the designer of the notebook you might be able to contact the OEM to buy a replacement. You have to be careful as they have diffrent power ratings and may not work not to mention cooling is a big issue. Im sure your aware.
I sold clevo notebooks for awhile and know quite a bit about them.

The notebook is from MSI. Ive called them, but they wont sell me an upgrade, which is what i want if i can get it. I even called a few of the clevo/sager distributors and either didnt have any or only sold them to customers who bought that brand
ive done a bit of asking on the power requirements and the general consensus was i should be alright as far as power. I know the battery is rated ~52Whr 10.8v 4800mAh and the power adapter is 120w. what the mobo regulates though i have no idea.
MSI uses the same cooling solution for the 9800m GS(60wTDP) in a diff notebook, and i never had cooling issues at all with my 9600m. So I should be fine in that regard as well
