Game 1 was sick.
Kobe dropped 40
Melo dropped 39
105 - 103 LA victory.
One of the best games I've seen in a while.

excellent game. The steal at the end sealed it imo.
Good game. VERY physical. I'll say this, if it was Lebron instead of Kobe and Carmelo, he would probably have gone to the line about 40 times.
Denver should have made their freethrows, they had the game.
Lakers were out-hustled most of the game but made some big shots and stops near the end.
Their energy level is just crap for some reason :( I wonder if they expected a cake-walk.

If that was LeBron instead of Kobe, Carmelo would have a broken ribcage. Honestly, it's borderline abusive how physical the Nuggets play. They're becoming a really dirty team. I hope they lose the series based on that alone.

If it's not called :)
And people under-estimate Carmelo and his game. Carmelo is TOUGH. I didn't see anyone keep up with him because he was so strong. Kobe slowed him down while playing defense but even he couldn't stop him. Did you see that one rebound in the third? 3 players including Kobe around him and Melo just cleared out and scored. Awesome.
Of course, I have to tip my hat off to Kobe. Dislocates his finger, again, has it popped back in and goes and scores 16 points in the 4th. That, my friends, is toughness.
Man, both these series are RIDICULOUS but I have to tip my hat to Denver. Playing out of their minds and bodying up the Lakers.
They lost tonight but they belong and they are dangerous
I think if Kobe hadn't had the phenomenal game he had, this one would have been a blowout.
What a performance by Kobe though. He got hammered all game long and somehow he made it through the end. Watching his interview now and he's doubled over, gasping for air. Rarely do you see that.

Whoa, Lakers lost by 19!
Chauncy and Carmello laid a hurtin' on em.
Did you even watch the game? Carmelo didn't do jack.
The bench was HUGE for Denver tonight. Billups and Melo didn't need to have decent games at all. And the Lakers just couldn't get anything going. Smith had a huge game though :D
Unlike against the Rockets, I don't see the Lakers going home and winning by 40 the next game.

The Nugs are legit. :D Although, JR Smith is a loose cannon.

I watched the 2nd half. Carmelo got 15. 3rd on the team, not bad. Even though his score doesn't reflect this, he played hard, making LA get alot of fouls. Yeah Smith was in the zone.
Fantastic game today. A real physical battle and the refs let them play and the players responded.
I still don't know how Kobe didn't fall down after getting whacked in the face by Melo
Denver got tentative in the 2nd half. They had way too many turnovers and they didn't take advantage of some of the Lakers misfires in the 2nd half.
Great game by Lamar, I guess his back is feeling a little better after that hard foul he took against the Rockets.
And Melo, not a great game but boy, he can play.

Kobe finally got some help, and it helped that Denver choked in the 4th. Another good game though... this has been the best playoffs in a LONG time. :)

Referees are still wildly inconsistent, but, this was a solid game. It almost seemed old school with some of the contact back and forth. Some dumb plays on both sides, some dumb turnovers but there were good stretches of play for both teams. Not sure if it's just me but the skill level in this series seems higher than in the Eastern Conference series.

honestly, I think LA and Denver are the two best teams in the NBA right now. This is a great series.

See ya Denver...Next please! Go LAKERS!!!
Well played by the Lakers.
Denver really blew it. At one point, LA had about 7 more turnovers and while Kobe was 7 of 7 from the charity stripe, no other Laker had attempted a shot and Denver had about 15 or 16 attempts. They had chances and they just blew it.
Can't blame the refs for this one. This was over by half-time.

Denver just fell apart in the 2nd quarter... pathetic.
They had a great season and I expect them to come back mostly intact next year.
Good year but bad game :(

Lakers are just a better team than the nuggets. It happens.
