This is a complete Joke. First DX9 benchmark? Pleeeeaaasseeee. If that was the case then the poster that started this thread should not have been able to run it at all if it was DX9 Benchmark. Hell I have seen scores from GF4 MX running this. PS 1.1? Oh yea thats so DX9... Once again nice PR by nV.

What does your machine score on it?

No idea. Again i just find it way too ironic that they are claiming this to be a DX9 benmark when it does not use any other than 2.0 VS DX9 stuff. Please tell me how the GF4 cards can run a DX9 benchmark. I did not think that the GF4 cards had any DX9 "stuff" in them. Well either they do and we all are a buch of idiots since we seem to miss this "stuff" for past year..or its not a DX9 bench. Again this is not directed at anyone..just way to ironic any more....

Well, I'm sure there is a certain level of software emulation/rendering in there :). But I agree what you mean... but a software developer wouldnt create a benchmark thats ONLY DX9, because it wouldnt be popular among the public... since not everyone owns a fully hardware DX9 compliant video card. My 0.02 :).

Oh yeah, there's a new version of the benchmark....they uploaded the wrong one

http://www.yetistudios.com/gunmetal/Gun%20Metal/PC%20Benchmark%20Info.htm

There were errors with ATI cards when using the old benchmark, the new benchmark runs fine on ATI cards.

Well I cant even run the benchmark, the intro movie doesnt even show, only the sound, then it crashes to desktop, using the 44.65 drivers, anyone else have this problem or using these drivers?

my fx5800 core OCed to 500, memory at stock speed(800) coz its not stable at 900 when running this benchy probably because of my room temperature is now too hot, around 28 degree C.
my results: ;)

Uh.

Still trying to figure out why my framerate COMPLETELY DIES when the sun is on the screen...

I get about the same average at 640x480 and 800x600 as I do at 1024 because I get ~3 FPS when I can see the sun...

are you using fx5200? if so it looks about right? because xp2200+/512 pc 2100/ti4200 gets only 5.37 min. fps.

Well OK, but I'm still trying to figure out what happens with the sun exactly that causes framerate to fall so much. I get ~30-50 everywhere else, but when the sun is on the screen, it sinks like a rock.

Very odd. Maybe that's when it decides to use full-precision shaders (for the reflections on the plane)?

i did a little bit of research on the lens flare effect. they have a lot to do with alpha blending 2D textures and in this case the lens flares can occupy the screen to quite a large portion, perhaps fx5200 is not too good at doing heavy alpha blending work like this? but you are getting 30-50 everywhere else that is a bit strange. my fx5800 cant even get 30ish average fps but doesnt do so bad on the sun..... strange.

because your geforce 3 dont support some of the demo features? hence it should not compare validly with cards that do all intended work in demo?

I thought Occlussion Query was supported on the GF3, wasnt it first introduced on the GF3?

**Update**

I just did a search on google for Occlussion Query, turned up a link to an Nvidia exe demo and it does work!!
