OK guys...Here is the thing...I thought this would be a return to the E3 of old. It is and it isn't. Magus, if you remember how it was the year you went, it's nothing like that. There are only the West and South Halls open (no Kentia Hall). Much of the flash of 2006 (like having many booth babes/games/announcements right when you walk in), is not there this year. Everything is contained to the 2 halls and they do not completely fill the halls (like they did in prior years). There are very few playable games (when compared to the glory years) on the show floor. There are many big screens that keep showing trailers.

I didn't find out until later, that my pass allowed me into the meeting room areas. I will explore that more tomorrow, and hopefully have more info/pics/video for you guys.

In the mean time, below are pics from the show (just a few). Tomorrow, my friend will be there with a digital SLR. I hope to have a ton of pics (and possibly video) to post tomorrow night.

First pic is HOTT!! Check out Mythy playing drums and DOC in a costume playing guitar on the right!

Just Wanted to let you guys know I'm beat and going to the beach for a few days. On Monday, I'll post pics and vids I got. Not too much game play this year unfortunately. The setup was quite a bit different this year. There where not nearly as many playable games. Many BIG booths with lots of floor space and huge screens.

I was a bit busy to do much swag hunting, but I will be giving away 2 copies of Battlefield 1943 (one for 360, and one for PS3). It is a downloadable $15 game on both systems. I'm not sure if you have to wait till July 1st to download or not, sorry...Some of my friends got a few shirts and stuff and I'll try to get a few more things to give out from them...

Overall, the show was pretty good. The games with the most buzz seemed to be Star Wars : The Old Republic (Bioware MMO), Left 4 Dead 2 (I did get some vid of that from their press booth), and Modern Warfare 2....

Thanks for your report nrdstrm. Looking forward to more vids and whatnot.

I have a question though... it's not back to the '06 era, but it's no longer that lame-ass thing that was going on for the past 2 years, correct?

Glad to see they found some sort of middleground... I think

Correct. Most of the spectacle is there (just not quite as much of it), and less playable games. Booth babes, promo stuff, swag, etc was all back, but again, just not with the same volume as 2006...

More tomorrow when I get home...
