Not sure how many of you are still Sims players, I'm going to pick this up right now. Beagle has had it on pre order since forever. I've heard mixed feedback from the big leak about a month ago.
Once I'm back I'll chuck it on a give it a go and post some screens and initial feedbacks.

My brother has his own copy. I'm gonna try it tonight... I've always liked first Sims...

Take the reviews of the leaked version with a grain of salt as it isn't the same as the retail version. Whether there's any major difference in terms of bugs I don't know, but possibly.

Yeah, that's what I thought. EA claimed the leak was a tester/review code copy. I'm installing now and I actually did loose 20 cool points, but make up 40 when I sleep with hot chicks who love The Sims 3.

I've played this.. was able to pick up a copy last week through newegg. It's awesome.. much better than Sims 2. No more individual loading screens.. everything is seemless and you can go anywhere you want now. The entire game is much more interactive and immersive than it was before.

I get into the building aspect more than anything else, but the overall game appears to be much improved.

I've had it on preorder for about a week now. Before you crucify me like you did Crainger's ass, its for my GF too. :bleh: Looks like fun though :D

I still haven't launched. ::(: Been trying to download extra content like the free town. Doesn't work. I got the Collectors Car, and it installed, but nothing else works. Sims 3 Launcher Fail...

I liked it, never got into Sims 2, but it is much better then The Sims from way back when. I can tell it is definitely open for expansions.

A Sims game open for expansions? NO WAY!

I don't like this new store. It's already full of goodies and it's pretty expensive. I might have to hide Beagles CC.

A full set of objects is around 1500 points. That's 34 objects. Now right now 17AUD = 1000 points. So instead of paying 20-30AUD for a stuff pack of around 100 objects you pay the same for 30-50 objects. ::(:

DLC at its finest! Separate leftovers the graphic team already made long time ago and sell it for $$ or .

Seems Sims 3 is pretty good anyway, well at least if you like these type of games.

holy moly, someone just leaked the entire set of dlc available on ea's online store. I just spend 2 hours trying to decide which ones to get using the 1000 points EA gave me for registering the game, and my first google search brought me to a page that had all the items listed with download links. Looks like a lawsuit coming from EA against Google, maybe???

why would they sue google? it is only a search engine.

Nice. One fight the ****ed up DLC pricing. I know it's illegal, but they are charging way way to much. They are insane though. I mean most of the people who play the sims are too young to buy over the net or make their own content. I could understand if ALL expansion packs came over the Store, but we know that wont happen.

Either way. I'll probably just leave it alone. The store content doesn't add much.

Just wait for all the user-made downloads from modthesims and the like. There's always a ton of free content out there--no need to pay for anything.

Anyone else having an issue with the game crashing? Its done this to me the two times ive tried to play entering the building mode.

Not for me, but Beagle is getting crashes, seems to be in Build/Buy mode also. It just pops back to desktop in an instant, no errors.

Seems the game has a few issues, crashes, Sims 3 Launcher not installing content, error code 12 and 13 on saving which can lead to save corruption. Happens on both PC and Mac. Patch should on it's way. One Mac patch has been released so far.
