I've been using this card for a couple of months. Good performance for the price, considering it's overclocked out-of-the-box, solidly-built, runs at significantly cooler temps and is pretty darn quiet!

Looks like a great card, I just don't like that cooling design. Seems to me that a lot of the heat would stay in your case. Anyways, I noticed this little tidbit at the end;

Although not published, testing also reveals that a GeForce GTX 260 GTX Core 216 in SLI met or exceeded the performance of the expensive and elusive GeForce GTX 295.

And that is why I plan on adding another BFG GTX 260 Maxcore 55 for SLI. ;)

Mike is there any way you could update / compare it to a GTX 260 (similar shader count.... or not... doesn't matter too much) as far as heat goes.

I noticed the temps were vs. a 280.... which just isn't realisitc since I know the 280s run alot hotter even with stock cooling on each.

I'd love to see that comparison and would relaly help the review I think.... since the only appeal of this card is the cooling solution, anyone and their brother can overclock a card to match these "OC" out of the box speeds. So since it's the defining factor I'd love to see the review focused on that aspect... since that's relaly all there is, unless I missed a major point in the review.

I may have the answer in this set of tests. You may have overlooked it on page 7 or I didn't explain it well enough...heh.

Here two 260's are running - one is the MSI the other is the EVGA. Both GPUs are being used in Furmark and the MSI runs much cooler - 91C vs. 77C - at 40% fan speed.

Yeh, my mistake, I guess I did miss that.

I was looking for a chart much like the 280 comparison you had.

So I assume that if you're reading both temps at once that's running them in SLI? which would mean one card affects the other, although that shouldn't be a huge problem, still shows the good qualitiest of the MSI...

personally i'm looking forward to teh 270 that has the cooler from MSI much like that 260's cooler... I forget teh name of it but it looks promising. any chance you can get your paws on that? :0

This explains why my computer shuts off and is so loud...

Will the MSI N260GTX OCv3 fix both noise and overheating? Is there one thats better? I really need to get this fixed right away.

if you GPU is overheating, could be other things. Is the case well ventilated? maybe the video card cooler is all clogged with dust?
