Crytek is based in Germany so this whole ordeal puts Crytek on thin ice.

What happens if the law is passed, does this mean Crytek wont be allowed to produce "violent" videogames in Germany anymore?

They have studios in Kiev, Ukraine; Budapest, Hungary; Sofia, Bulgaria; and Nottingham, England.

They'll send them to the Crysis forum. It never dies so they will live on.

Well i know that Crytek were hardly going to die if they have to find a new headquarters, where will they move to though?

I wonder if Crytek have been waiting for this for a long time hense the aggressive expansion.

God I hate it when people who don't know **** get to make all the decisions. :thumbdwn:
Hell why not ban violent movies while you're at it? Freaking hypocrites!

Crysis is watered down Disney style violence compared to even F.E.A.R.

They should make a gore patch just to say FU to those guys (and to please me).

Short story: Recent school shooting, politicians on the loockout for a convenient reason to blame for it => Here we go!

The only effects this will have are:

1. An increase in piracy!
2. No more video games "made in Germany".

edit:
Also keep in mind that this is not even proposed to be a law. It's most likely to be abandoned anyway.

EA will relocate them. If they don't move. Tough titties, EA will strip them of their name and repopulate with Canadians.

Sweden went through a censorship phase during the 80's. It was all because of a debate program on state television called Studio-S showed the worst images from then current exploitation and sleaze movies (like Chainsaw massacre, Cannibal Holocaust etc). It led to a rage that caused VHS and Cinema to be heavy censored for many years. Even silly horror movies like Evil Dead was heavily cut to show nothing at all. But this phase slowly faded away and censorship has basically disappeared since long. The phase led to nothing. Just 10 years of witch hunting and insane censorship.

Of course it is pathetic! However, politicians have to give answers if the people ask them to, even if there are no reasonable answers to be given. I doubt that the people in charge actually believe that there is a point in banning violent games.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say they will just move. :bleh:

Exactly... it's much more the stupid masses' fault than politicians that games get villified. Whenever something bad happens people demand answers and causes, even if the only answer is "wow, some people are nuts."
