It does work fine with video's and movies. Providing they are 3D. It works a hell of a lot better than the old red/blue glasses.

How do you play a movie in 3D with 3D Vision? Wouldn't it have to be specifically made for it?

There is a special Dvd player that comes on the driver disk.

That's why you should check it out first. That is what I did. I was sold straight away. It really is that good.

So it converts regular DVD movies into 3D or does the movie have to be made for 3D already like Journey to the Center of the Earth?

WTF are you talking about? The shutter glasses do not work with blue ray or DVD 3d movies (they are anaglyph).

Sorry if I sound pissy but when people put out misinformation (intentionally or unintentionally as you have) it makes my life harder (I demo Nvidia 3d stereo at events around the country and will be working as staff in the Nvidia booth at PAX). Movies MUST be made in a specific manner to work in 3d with Nvidia's solution (the 3d movie viewer and photo viewer combine two movies that are at slightly different angles and play the consolidated image on the screen).

One thing you guys might want to know is there is a digital camera coming out that will take pictures in 3d stereo (saw it at QuakeCon, very cool stuff). Camcorders cannot be too far behind one would hope.

Sorry I have only tried the 3d movies on the Nvidia site. I thought it would work with the majority of 3d movies out there. It's my mistake if i'm wrong, but it wasn't intentional.

I realize you just made a mistake which I why I apologized for jumping on you. I hope they can get movie studios on board because if they did this technology would REALLY take off. You know how cool it is.

Does NVIDIA Geforce 3D Vision support Quad-SLI yet? I've got a 2nd GTX 295 arriving tomorrow :)

Not currently. Will be supported in the future with driver updates.

Anyone else have problems with 3D Vision and DX10 games? Crysis & The Call of Juarez benchmark get into the single digits of fps with or without 3D enabled. I have to disable 3D altogether in the NVIDIA control panel for the fps to go back to normal :eek2:

No problems here with either of those games. Even on only a single GTX gameplay is smooth. Which driver set are you using.

I've tried 190.62 & 190.38. I can't remember if I tried it with 186.18 driver. Leaving 3D enabled also hosed my Windows 7 WEI score. It also lowers 3DMark Advantage scores. I'm not sure why it doesn't seem to like DX10 though. Do you have the CoJ DX10 benchmark? See if it slows down performance in that with 3D enabled but the effects hidden on startup.
