So the wifey (outta no where) decided that she wants a Wii for the Wii Active game. I thought she was joking, but she kept bringing it back up and finally got around to saying "Let's go get one this weekend!".

I was pretty shocked. She hates video games!

So since she's getting Wii Active, I thought I'd grab a game :D Which one should I get:

Tiger Woods 10
Mario Kart Wii
Punch Out
Trauma Center (I've played this on the DS, loved it)

These are just few I've looked at. Wonder why the older games haven't dropped in price?

If I were getting a Wii now I don't think I'd buy one of those. I'd probably get Mario Galaxy or Metriod Prime 3. Something that is known to be really good and you can get a lot of play time out of.

I looked at Metroid 3 . . . May have to get a cheap copy of that.

I'm really leaning on Tiger Woods 10, that will get a lot of play time with the Career mode.

Now, what about recharging the controllers? Do I need to go with batteries or getting one of those recharging stand things?

No, dont get Metriod Prime 3. Wait until Metriod Trilogy comes out. It contains all 3 Metriod Prime games and first two are re-configured for Wii.

Punch-Out is a must to get. Oh you should get Dead Space Extraction when it comes out. It looks awesome.

Ah, that's what I thought lol. I was thinking that or everything in my house is going to get dusty because I'll be playing the Wii too much lol.

That definitely will not be a problem. If you find yourself playing games too much and it is hurting your relationship, just buy a Wii. You will be doing anything but playing games.

dont listen to the haters. i have had the wii since launch and i still play it like mad.

i would reccomend either GHWT or RB2. they are both great, but their differences will depend on your opinion. one has better gameplay, one has better overall presentation, etc etc. i have both so hit me up for more.

dont get any medal of honors of COD's. they suck. mario galaxy is great as is mario kart.

I've been doing great with just my PC but since the wife wants a Wii, I'm not going to complain. I enjoyed playing my friend's Wii system over the holidays last year, it was a blast to play.

If she's buying with intentions of personal home fitness, that thing will be in the closet within 2 months, unless you make other use for it :D

That EA Sports Active game is by far the best exercise video game made ever. I found wii fit to be very gimmicky but this one is like having a personal gym at home. you have a very smart woman there, six_storm!!!
