Sorry if this has been asked before, but is any vendor going to release a 5900 Ultra 128mb?

I would hope so to compete price wise with the ATI 9800 Pro 128mb.

If you look on leadtek's site I think they will have one.

Why would they make one? The fx5900 128mb uses the same memory and gpu as the 256mb ultra.

Maybe the vendors think people will think the 265mb is faster because of more memory and not because they nerfed the gpu/mem speed on the 128mb's.

They are clocker slower on the plain 5900.

I'm waiting for these cards to start showing up at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc...I'm getting a 128 too.

I keep reading conflicting information all over the net.

Some say "yes" that there will be a 128mb Ultra, some say "no".

Others say the only difference between the Ultra and Plain is the clock speeds.

And yet others say the only difference between the Ultra and the Plain is the 128mb to 256mb.

Does anyone have any DIFINITIVE information on this topic??

Well, NVIDIA didn't say much:

Q. There seems to be a little confusion over NV35 lineup. Can you confirm that there will or will not be a GeForce FX 5900 Ultra 128MB version?

A. That is up to the AICs
