If I plug my laptop (Windows Xp Sp2) into the docking station and forget to completely shutdown before hand, all my desktop icons get thrown to the top left of my screen, anyone know where windows saves this info, It'd be nice if I could backup a config file that holds the desktop icon configuration...

With my desktop PC if my icons get screwed up I just unplug my PC, if windows can't shut down properly it can;t save the desktop config and everything returns to normal, but with the laptop I haven't found a way to do an quick power down, holding the power button down turns it off fast, but Windows still has time to save the icon info....

Thanks,

Vanz

Maybe it is unclear. Sounds like you practice improper shutdowns on all your PCs and wonder why things do not work...
