I love Ariza but he should realize how much he is WORTH. There is no way the Lakers were going to break the bank for him.

Artest is indeed a coup because over the past few years he has definitely matured. He does go off at times but, come on, the guy can straight up ball.

I feel bad for Ariza but I guess if he is indeed getting more money somewhere else, so be it. Good luck and congratulations on a great year and a great comeback from injury last year.

Wrt Houston, it's like a sinking ship and everyone is bailing. Yao's foot is apparently not getting better anytime soon, T-Mac last cared about 4 or 5 years ago and now poor Battier is stuck as a bargaining chip instead of getting respect for all the work and sacrifice.

Who woulda thunk it.

The Lakers NEED to keep Odom though.

I love Ariza too, but I don't think it was him. I think his agent engineered this to get him more money. I bet he is now reeling and Ariza is probably pissed. I give Mitch credit. It sounds like they had Artest in their back pockets in case Ariza (or his agent) pulled this crap.

Artest is cool with Kobe, and is very close with Odom (He was shooting pool at his house 2 days ago)...Should be a good fit, and Jackson can control his outbursts...
