Shown above is the picture of GeForce GT220 die codenamed GT216. The die is marked with “GT216-350-A2?.and uses 40nm fabrication technology. It will be Nvidia’s first 40nm desktop GPU targeting the mainstream by replacing the GeForce 9500 series.

Good news.

my how time flies. I remember what seems like not too long ago GT200 was just a rumor, but now it's already filtering down to the low end. :)

fudzilla just posted some info

The GT 220 is a bit more serious and features 48 stream processors, a 128-bit memory interface and 1GB of GDDR3 memory. It works at a higher 615MHz clock for the core, 1335MHz for shaders and 1580MHz for memory. Same as the G210, the G220 has DVI, HDMI and D-Sub outputs and features active cooling.

obviously I'm starving for Nvidia news to be posting this :p

yeah, ive been constantly checking for the golden GTX300 info, though heck even some more indepth news of AMDs DX11 cards would be great right now, as its possible I might end up with one in december, just read the latest article(posted on the frontpage) that shows off a bit of hardware tesselation in DX11, things are looking great imo

While im not excited about entry level cards like the GT220, with the size of those cards I think they need to be adapted as onboard cards for OEMs, to try and raise the gaming capability of the average computer

I will probably wait until ATI and Nvidia has their cards out and for a good reason to upgrade. Game playing is great as it is now. Interesting in any case.

Itll mainly be for those without a GTX2XX card, or current gen AMD card, like me with my 8800GTX, though everything runs fine for me(except Crysis), I am definently interested in getting my hands on a DX11 card after Win7s launch

New user so not sure if this correct thread rec prblems relating to this precise model .
Situation : upspecced a new Dell 3 weeks old with this card Dell studio 540 with 23 inch wide screen .
Card works beautifully under windows Linux /Ubunto 9.10 and 8.10
Searching Linux forums not a lot of help but plenty of warnings not to fiddle with manual Nvidia fixes.
Short question when will a Linux driver for this card likely to be available ?
or any other help much appreciated
