Ah yes. Take an E65 745i and add:
$12,000 worth of Brembo 8 piston 4 pad monster brakes on the front and rear.
The brand new E65 7-Series brake kit from Brembo uses a pair of 380mm x 34mm rotors with 8-piston calipers. This is a gigantic big brake kit. However, the huge 8-piston calipers are aluminum alloy and weigh only 12 pounds each, which is far less than the 17 pound stock calipers which are made of iron and have only a single piston.

$12,000 worth of AC Schnitzer suspension
$20,000 worth of AC Schnitzer 22" wheels and tires
and an AC Schnitzer body kit and what do you get?
One sweet ass machine.

Damn, at those prices you could buy 2 more cars....
I just don't understand the logic in buying such expensive mods... unless you got so much money that you really don't know what to do with it.. :|

Dude....
And have you seen the other crap he's putting out? The X3? Ugghh... And the 1-Series??
I know he did the E46...good for him, he had to get something right. But it's all been downhill from there. Know what's especially sick???
BMW will sell every car they make because Bangle can't screw up the fact that it's still a BMW. Though I think he's trying.
DIE BANGLE DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rw:
Aside from the strange decklid, I find the 7 series pretty attractive, if not a little porky looking. Mr. McFragger, you have quite the eviable job. Personally, I am waiting for the Cad CTS-V to come out. It is coming with the 406bhp vette motor and Brembos(not quite the ones you installed). I will throw on some 19"s and some eibachs. I think I will shock a few with it, if I can resist the temptation to mess with the exaust too much.

Gib buddy...
Need some help man.
I've been looking for a new car for the fiancee, and my boss heard about my search and offered me a car.
It's a 2000 BMW 540iT. It was his wifes car. She worked in town and did the soccer practice thing with the kids. It's got ~26000 miles on it. I have the factory warranty until December 17th, 2003 or when it hits 50,000 miles.
Since I'm such a wonderful, ass kissing employee, he offered me the car for $27,000 US. It's got the black leather interior, park distance control, heated seats, sunroof, the whole shabang.
What I want to know is, what would I be getting into? It's a BMW, thats whats alluring me to it. It's roughly the price I had worked out for a new Passat V6 wagon, but the BMW is 3X the car. Low milage and I still have the factory warranty for a couple months. The insurance doesn't scare me, but the potential for pricey service does.
What kinds of problems do you see with the 4.4l? Are they generally a reliable motor? The biggest worry I have is electrical bugs. Any to speak of?
It's a super-slick ride. Pampered, waxed regularly by our own detailing crew and fairley low miles. Am I getting a good deal or a bottomless pit into which I will throw large sums of currency??
I drove it around town about an hour ago, and I love the way it rides, I love the way it handles, I REALLY love the way it accelerates and really like the brake feel. Any negetives? Anything to look for or ask about?
Thanks man!!!

Heya dude! :afro:
Ok, here are a few off the top of my head.
1. Brakes. Bimmer's have big brakes that stop the car hard. Downside, they eat them. Expect to be doing brakes ~ every 15-20,000 miles depending on how hard you drive the car.
2. Cooling systems. BMW have decided in their infinite wisdom to use plastic for 99% of everything in their newer cars. They are weak in radiators, water pumps and thermostat housings. The M60 engines usually only have probs with radiators, and it is usually the little bleed hose coming off the top of the rad on the drivers side. That and the upper rad hose connection. Being plastic, they get weak from getting hot and cold and hot and cold constantly. Eventually they crack and leak, usually when summer approaches and the temps go up.
Other than those probs, which plague every model of Bimmer, the E39's (5 series) are prob the most reliable of the models.
I personally prefer the 530i's myself. I find the 540i's too heavy in the front end with the V8. The 3.0i is not that much slower with a stick and is almost a perfect weight to power ratio when driving. But that is just me. :)
The 540i's and iT's are a good car man, just remember that ALL Bimmers are expensive to maintain. Parts are brutal. :afro:

Thanks for the facts Gib, and you too MikeC!!!
I can't decide!#!!@!!#!$!
I really like the 540iT. It drives like a heaven, goes like hell and brakes like a boat anchor. I don't like that I'll be stuck without a warranty in 6 months.
I also like a 2003 Volkswagen Passat V6 wagon. I can order it how I want it, get a full warranty and get it for a good price. Both cars will cost me roughly $28,000 dollars out the door. It goes like my Camry, rides like a soft 3 series and brakes like a freight train.
Decisions, decisions. In the short term, the BMW will really turn me on. But I'm buying the car for the long-haul, and the Passat will get me there with 3 more years of warranty.
Since I work for a VW/Subaru dealership who's owner also has a BMW/Mercedes/Toyota/Mazda dealership, I can get parts and service slightly discounted for both cars. Though something tells me I'd need a major discount to bring the BMW parts and labour down to that of the normal VW parts and service.
*sigh*...I guess I'll have to turn it over to the little-lady to give on the green-light. This could get ugly.
In the short term, the BMW will really turn me on
Just let the ''little lady' turn you on. Prolly should go with what she wants. Trust me after 20 years of marriage I can speak from experience. If you get her what you want everything that goes wrong with the car will be your fault. Remember you're in this for the long haul. Let her pick and you'll be turned on alot longer.;)

Honestly man, I would go for the VW. I would love to own a Bimmer, but you have to be able to wipe your arse with $50 bills to really afford one. It's not the price of the car that kills, it's the maintenance, especially when the warranty runs out.
PS Listen to Mike, he has spoken wisely. Unless you want to listen to:
"What?? The car needs work again?? I TOLD you not to buy that car. Didn't I tell you not to buy that car??? Well?? Didn't I???"
Speaking from my experiance, as I used to own a VW Golf and my uncle owns a Jetta, the cars are very good. I never had a major problem with mine, my uncle still drives his old Jetta and while the parts are not the cheapest, they are not too expensive. And if you're thinking of buying a new VW than I would go with that. You get the warranty and not worry about it for a while. ;)
OMFG! This car looks amazing!
