Seriously. With stupid **** moves like this.

A SIX year contract for $50 million!

Varacrap is getting paid more than Artest, Ariza, Marion, Turkalou, ANY free agent. He's barely qualified as a "decent' player. HE'S NOT EVEN A STARTER!

Way to go Cavs. I use to think people were off their head thinking that Lebron would go to NY in 2010, now I'm actually hoping it happens.

RIP Cleveland. Your economy(Lebron James) is leaving your stupid ass.

Oh yea... Forgot to mention. Anderson(who is 20x the player Varacrap will ever be) signed for only like $3 million a year on Denver.

Lets summarize what the Cavs have accomplished during the Summer since they are quote in "panic" mode and trying to keep Lebron.

Signed a 38 year old $20 Million Dollar Lard of a Contract

Got rid of their offensive coach who actually brought the team to the highest levels they have ever been

Signed a 34 year old crummy guard

Gave a 7 point per game player(Varacrap) the largest contract of the Summer.

WAY TO GO CAVS!!! I'm sure Lebron is just dieing to stay with you now!

Ron Artest signed for what? 5yrs, $33 million?

Andy V is worth almost $20 million MORE than Ron Artest?

No wonder the Cavs have one of the highest payrolls in the league year on year. This year, they should be right up there with the Knicks I think.

Fwiw, I think starting Varejao with Shaq in the middle and having Zeke coming in off the bench is not a bad idea. Who knows, it might work out for this season. But they paid about $15 million more than he's worth at the very least.

Oh yea... and lets not forget David Lee (More Double Doubles than ANY player in the league) is in the free agency as well.

So you are saying Varacrap is better than David Lee? David Lee would have GLADLY signed with a potential championship team for that inflated crap contract.

Ferry is just a ****ing retard. He's sole purpose is to do whatever he can to insure Lebron leaves. I've been saying this for years.

Edit: I forgot about Lamar Odom. Varacrap is better than Lamar Odom? A player who(in my opinion) is one of the big reasons why the Lakers even won a ring this year.

lol wouldn't that mean he's getting paid more than LeBron since LeBron's still on his rookie contract?

Think of it this way.

By signing this contract, the Cavs might have priced the Lakers out of signing Lamar. Will Lamar accept less money from the Lakers who are already at or above the cap?

I agree terrible contract, he has defensive skills and that's it. He's definitely suspect on the offensive side, didn't the cavs learn nothing from the Ben Wallace trade ?

has anyone noticed how the NBA players have shifted their thoughts on loyalty?

remember in the 90's and before.. if a team lost, generally the legacy teams just high fived each other and played the next year harder to win... but stayed together? now, a team thats a contender ends up filling with older guys who hope to win a ring? its like they jump ship for the short term chance instead of staying in one place? i remember the rockets in the mid 90's did that. they had a dam good squad then dumped them all for Charles Barkley? Lakers did it a while ago with K Malone and Gary Payton? and now this free agency has been all about "what team can i get on real quick to get a quick ring". no loyalty.. no fight it out together...

just something i have noticed.

Not all players do this and not all teams.

Look at the Spurs for example. They take care of their guys for the most part. The Lakers have done the same with some of their boys, the Celtics as well. Many teams ARE into a quick buck or quick results.

Wrt Malone and Payton, they were all about that ellusive ring at the end of their careers and you will see others do that too. Look at Garnett.

The ring is a vindication of their careers. Not all get them though. And the fact is, the veterans are typically pretty good. No matter what anyone says about Zeke, for example, Shaq is a better center even now. For the Lakers, Malone was definitely an upgrade over Rick Fox and had he not had the leg injury, twice in the season, the second in the playoffs, the Lakers would have beaten the Pistons.

Nope...They didn't price the Lakers out of Lamar (according to the media, but anything can happen). From what I have been reading, the Lakers arn't in a rush because no team will give him the 10 Mil a year he wants. Rumors are that the Lakers will give him 8 and he will sign. We will see. I agree, Lamar was a BIG part of the Lakers championship, and they need to sign him ASAP.
